About the Author

Helene Rogers is a photographer and founder member of the TRIP photographic agency. She holds one of the largest collections of photographs of the UAE, where she has travelled and photographed regularly for the last 17 years. Kevin Higgins has travelled extensively in the Arab world, and particularly in the Gulf region. He worked for five years as the English Language Adviser to the Ministry of Education in the UAE. His duties included developing a new English language course which took him to all parts of the UAE on visits to schools, where he had the opportunity to talk to many Emiratis about their country.
