Risking it all for love...
This story is incredibly sweet! It's about Emmet Otter and his Ma trying to scrape together enough money for a Christmas present for each other. As each risks everything to surprise the other, a touching adventure unfolds in which they learn the true meaning wealth. Beautiful illustrations and fun animal characters, too.

Very Good condition? I think a little more used than presented. But still a book we hope to share with our little one.

I have enjoyed this story since I was a kid. Any time you feel the Christmas spirit is lost in all the hullabaloo of the season, 15 minutes reading this story on the sofa some evening is all it takes to bring that spirit back to you and your family. Emmet and his mom both experience giving up their own wishes to make each other happy, and find that happiness is not about having things, but about love and friendship. All ages, and both boys and girls will find things to enjoy about this story. Not corny, just a great story that never gets old.

A wonderous, wonderfully illustrated children's book focusing on the true important things in life, family and what is inside. I am just turning 40 and still wax nostalgic over this and many other books from my childhood...

I love Emmet Otter. It is one of my childhood favorites. I had only seen the movie, and when I found out about the book I started looking online. The book was received as stated in the listing (minor wear and tear) but is in great shape for the age of the book. It is sitting on my infant son's book shelf along with some other books that I saved from my own childhood. I can't wait until he is a little older and we can share this story each holiday season.
