Joe Lynn Turner turns up the heat with this great album.

Emotional Fire is another dynamite melodic rock album, and one that will not disappoint fans of the previous Sunstorm albums.

If you are a rock from that time or just like music from late '70's - '80's and early '90's - you'll like this.

What a deliciously lush disc this is, and is perhaps one of Joe Lynn Turner's finest moments. He personally may find the blues more to his liking but music like this happens to be where JLT's voice truly shines. He's weathered a little over the years, giving a slight edge that just flavors the music even more. Turner sounds fantastic and flexes his vocal chops all over this disc. Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69) has polished the production to perfection and added some great guitars as well. The songs are bursting with hooks and lavish melodies, with the crowning glory being the title track. If they sound familiar, well some of them should, as many of these are actually covers mined from the 80s on songs that Joe Lynn Turner once sang BACKGROUND vocals on. Now he's been put front and center, and sounding fantastic on tracks such as the soaring title track. This was once belted by Cher, but Turner sounds more passionate and turns this into a very Bon Jovi sounding song. Gina sticks close to the original by Michael Bolton, but JLT really fans the flames. Daniel Palmqvist contributes a few new tracks, including the explosive "The Higher You Rise". Fans of AOR or Joe Lynn Turner need this disc... the third Sunstorm cd is a pure pleasure through and through!

Melodic rock super-vocalist Joe Lynn Turner (ex-Rainbow, Deep Purple) is back with Emotional Fire, the third in his amazing Sunstorm series of albums. The veteran singer is once again paired with bassist/producer Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69) for another pristine collection of high-class melodic rock songs.

Like the previous Sunstorm releases (Sunstorm and House of Dreams), Emotional Fire features a mix of new and old songs. The older material includes songs Turner originally wrote (and sang backup on) for artists like Michael Bolton and Cher, and the new songs are written by modern melodic rock veterans like Tom and James Martin (Vega,Khymera), Soren Kronkvist (Issa) and Daniel Palmqvist (Xorigin).

It's hard to say whether the older songs like "Gina" and "Emotional Fire" are stronger than the newer songs, but what's never in doubt is Turner's amazing vocal performance. He brings so much power, emotion and depth to these songs - be they ballad, rock anthem or pop rocker - that it's easy to see why he's considered a legend. Of course he's aided by some first class musicians, songwriters and producers, which never hurts.

Emotional Fire is another dynamite melodic rock album, and one that will not disappoint fans of the previous Sunstorm albums. It's the first must-have melodic rock album of 2012, and one that should appeal to virtually every fan of AOR and melodic rock in general, and Turner in particular.

This album conveys what rock music lacks these days. Joe Lynn Turner turns up the heat with this great album. Front to back it rocks and before you know it you're singing every hook. Joe is a rock/heavy metal icon and he once again shows the listener how he can deliver great albums/music consistently. I was also shocked to see that the great Micheal Bolton himself co-wrote 3 of the tracks. Hard to believe that an album like this was released in 2012. Pick this one up, you wont regret it.

"Emotional Fire" is the third, brand new studio album by melodic rock/AOR project "Sunstorm". "Sunstorm" is AOR legend Joe Lynn Turner backed by members of the German hard rock band "Pink Cream 69"- bassist Denis Ward, guitarist Uwe Reitenauer and drummer Chris Schmidt- plus keyboardist Justin Dakey.

"Emotional Fire" is substantially differentiated in comparison to its predecessor. While "House of Dreams" was a fairly subtle and somewhat melancholic AOR album, the new "Sunstorm" is in-your-face fiery melodic rock that wastes no time given that the average song makes its point in just over three minutes.

It has to be addressed that "Emotional Fire" is a combination of classic compositions (the majority of which served as Michael Bolton tunes) and contemporary melodic rock songwriting contributed by such artists as Daniel Palmkvist, Tom Martin, Robert Sall and Issa. Clearly the classic material scores somewhat higher that its modern counterpart, yet, that is not to say that "Emotional Fire" is an uneven album. On the contrary, Turner's phenomenal performance unifies the track list completely in one solid "Sunstorm" album. The vocal attack that comes out of the man is hard to believe, bringing similar levels of intensity as he did in during his "Rainbow" days.

"Emotional Fire", "You wouldn't know love", "Torn in half", "Gina" and "Never Give Up" are definite to win over even the most demanding of AOR admirers. It does not get much better than this, indeed.
