From the Publisher

Sex researchers have found that the body chemistry that ignites a couple's initial attraction to each other starts to wane a few months into the relationship and fizzles out in less than two years. After that, the couple's feelings are less intense and exciting, however, the stability of the relationship affords them the chance to develop their bond and create a deeply satisfying partnership.

Emotional Fitness for Intimacy presents fun and effective ten-minute exercises married couples and couples in long-term, committed relationships can do to reconnect for greater intimacy, renew their chemistry, and keep resentment and conflicts at bay. Some of these exercises offer practical suggestions, such as "learn about something new together," while others offer tips for developing more complex relationship skills. This effective and fun-to-read guide makes it easy for long-term couples to rediscover the excitement in their relationships.

Format:Paperback
Emotinal Fitness for Intimacy is one of those books you can open to any page and find something helpful for your relationship. With the economy falling apart and all the unrest going on in the world, it is more important than ever to keep love strong. This book helped us to stay connected when we wanted to shut down and retreat. It helped us realize that anything can be overcome as long as we stay focused on our feelings for each other. Most important, we are reminded to make our relationship a priority every single day. This way this book is designed makes that quick and easy to do. Every chapter is to the point. This one is a keeper!

5.0 out of 5 stars Essential Reading August 21, 2009
Format:Paperback
Dr. Goldsmith offers precious insights to building relationships that we can take for granted. Let's admit we are all busy with work, activities and are tired at the end of each day. Dr. Goldsmith's advise is invaluable. I love Chapter 14, Tips for Building Empathy, empathy is a gift as we all seek to be understood and Chapter 38 Ten Tips for Giving Emotional Support is a must for all those seeking to enhance their relationships. He also shares thoughts on politeness, tenderness and laughter, I love his candid writing and his ability to create mutual understanding.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rekindling The Flame March 24, 2011
By David
Format:Paperback
As my wife and I moved past the honeymoon phase, the monotony of everyday life somewhat set in. After reading Barton Goldsmith's Emotional Fitness for Intimacy, I was reminded of how easy it is to keep the love alive and vibrant. As a man I tend to focus more on my career if I let myself. Emotional Fitness for Intimacy gave me a set of tools and reminders of how to intensify the love that my wife and I have always had, but unknowingly forgot to prioritize at the top of life's to-do list. This book made a HUGE difference in my love relationship.
