5.0 out of 5 stars great!!!
Indeed, having read practically everything I could lay my hands on about EFT, this book however is the very best by far considering its clarity, theory, practicality, exercises and cross-reference. A masterpiece!

1.0 out of 5 stars I GUESS I'M NOT A DUMMY
Not that useful. Also is very "UK" in its verbiage and spelling, which in itself is not fatal, but is also a distraction. There are several choices that are much better: Carol Look's "Attracting Abundance With EFT" and Patricia Carrington's "Try It On Everything."

5.0 out of 5 stars better than many, July 7, 2010

I first learned EFT in about 2002 from the materials on Gary Craig's website and the DVDs(CDs then)which he sold at reasonable prices. And, he believed so strongly in the importance of the information being spread far and wide that he gave purchasers permission to copy them up to 100 times as long as you gave the copies away for free. How often do you see that happening these days? Now, we have various people who are quite well versed in EFT and have their own pet specialties, like Carrington's Choices Method and Carol Look's "EFT for Abundance," both good in their way but hardly as complete as "EFT for Dummies." The author covers in detail how to do this odd tapping process and answers questions you are likely to have as you learn.

I think that reading "EFT for Dummies" can give you more than the basics and if you were to pair it with Craig's DVDs, you'd complement what you've learned in the book and would be able to use EFT in no time, both for yourself and others. There is a caveat with helping others, though. Some people with severe mental/emotional problems need the assistance of a therapist to work through these issues with or without EFT. For the DVDs, go to [...]. I think they can be borrowed from the website's library.

My only quarrel with "EFT for Dummies" is that they use a different pattern of tapping than that used here in the US. The 8 point style which seems to be commonly accepted here in the US is available on Carol Look's website - look for a pdf download which has diagram of this 8 point sequence. This sequence is easier to use. However, there are many styles of meridian tapping, rubbing or otherwise stimulating the points and most are likely to be helpful. Short and simple is better and it works!

I helped a woman get rid of a snake phobia last week in about 15 minutes. She hadn't even been able to say the word snake before. She was amazed, said it was too easy and questioned whether it was real! I'll be following up but I expect she will have little or no trouble with it and if she does, we can clear up the remaining aspects easily. Not everything is resolved that easily but it does help many problems.

Watching Gary Craig's videos can be confusing. Lots of good demonstrations and some teaching but sort of all over the place. This book is clear, concise, and to the point. And sometimes people think EFT works so fast all the time and when it doesn't, it's disappointing. The book explained this and showed how to get results anyway.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best EFT book ever, July 18, 2010

This book is by far the best instructional work on EFT I have ever found. It will guide you from beginner to an advanced level. I have been teaching and practicing EFT for about 9 years and I would have loved to have this book when I was first starting out. I also had a chance to meet Helena Fone and her husband while on the island of Gozo, (Malta) last year. Very nice lady, if you get a chance to meet her don't pass it up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent And Comprehensive EFT Textbook, December 1, 2011

This review is from: Emotional Freedom Technique For Dummies (Paperback)
I have been practicing various methods of Energy Psychology ever since 1998. I am also giving EFT trainings and workshops as well as working with individual clients. After many years of experience in the field, I was little hesitant to read another 'basics of EFT' book.

I was so wrong.

'Emotional Freedom Technique For Dummies' was written by one of the strongest voices in international EFT community. It is a comprehensive study that is clearly the best textbook about EFT that I have ever read.

Abundant in insights and extensive experience of it's writer, this book is a must for any person who wishes to learn a modern, up-to-date EFT. Even more, I am certain that all current EFT practitioners could benefit from it. Helena Fone demonstrated her extensive knowledge not only in EFT, but in other sciences and systems of self development, such as NLP.

Author explains EFT from angles that are often different from those that one can frequently find in other works. I enjoyed those different, fresh viewpoints that inducted some new understandings and insights in my personal EFT realm.

And yes, don't be afraid that this is a boring textbook. It is filled with anecdotes, and most useful instructions on how to apply the Technique on number of conditions. At the same time, author took great care to carefully explain what lies ahead, saving newcommers from making mistakes along the way.

Throughout the book that, I strongly believe, puts new light and paves a way for future EFT professionals, author covered some important ethical and 'code of conduct' aspects. Therefore, this work promotes high standards in delivery of EFT, which I find extremely important.

Finally, Mrs. Helena Fone is a frank person with nice sense of humour and that is also why I really enjoyed reading 'EFT for Dummies'.

Bravo!

5.0 out of 5 stars High Quality Information from a Pro, November 14, 2010
This review is from: Emotional Freedom Technique For Dummies (Paperback)
Helena Fone is a long-standing EFT expert and is also the Chair of AAMET, the most important professional association of EFT professionals in the world. Her information in this book is well-written, clear, and easy to understand. I enjoyed reading her approach, and early on in my development as an EFT practitioner, I was very grateful for her guidance. Helena is one of the most important voices in EFT; anyone who has an interest in EFT would benefit enormously by reading this book. The value of EFT is in the doing, that said, a good book goes a long way towards helping the beginner understand the basics. I found EFT for Dummies excellent in this regard. Everything is laid out clearly and concisely and covers just about any doubt the beginning EFTer might have. A must-have resource in my opinion!
