4.0 out of 5 stars A scholarly work for the researcher, November 1, 2007
This review is from: Emotional Intelligence: Key Readings on the Mayer and Salovey Model (Paperback)
This is a defense and explanation of the authors' development of the concepts, and especially the related testing. Not much on the substance of the EI concept. This is not a popular work and will not do much to teach the lay reader about the topic. Good for the reader who wants to get at the roots. The authors are often credited as the founders, or among the founders, or at any rate with opening the topic to scholarly and popular interest.

This review is from: Emotional Intelligence: Key Readings on the Mayer and Salovey Model (Paperback)
I often recommend this book to anyone writing their dissertation on the subject of emotional intelligence. Page 88 has an excellent comparison of the three main models.
