ex-Xtian Deth guitarist... does Douche Mode wonders!,
By AhdioHore "aka Thee SoundSlut" (Westlake, La. United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Emotional Vomit (Audio CD)
Even tho some want to claim Adolecents as his mainstay & claim to fame; NON hit home harder than his exclusive stint in Rozz William's "Christian Death!" (hands down!)To even think that his brother's Alfie & Frank, who did return too help him on his solo efforts at times, could ever surpass the utter beauty of Xtian Deth's - Only Theatre of Pain is a pure atrocity!!! Following the Adolescents' farewell in '89, Agnew began the new decade with another solo outing. Except that yesterday's punk now favors mildly metalized hard rock and has access to better production, Emotional Vomit has many of the same qualities as All by Myself. This uneven collection of originals (plus a steely cover of Depeche Mode's "Never Let Me Down Again") push this just a tad over the 'must-own' for sake of Xtian Deth completeist lp's! The true shiner on here besides that more than awesome cover has to be the original "Marie!" So painstakeningly beautiful one must ask him/herself upon listening... "Is this the part where I'm suppossed to break down into tears¿" As, Rikk & company show that they were the 'true' PRE-emo heart-on the-sleeve punks at hand here,... thus giving no wonder that they both were one time members of fellow early 80's greased-up bar-room brawl-punkers Social Distortion!!! hoping you Enjoi'd & as always just remember to... |
