I have only read Marsha Linehan's chapter entitled Validation and Psychotherapy. It is the best 40 pages I have ever read on psychotherapy. I was 66 years old before I read it and had been a psychotherapist for nearly 40 years. It brought tears to my eyes because what I learned about validation here was so important and me and my patients have been missing out. I was sad because I hadn't read it before and it had been around for more than ten years.
