Suprisingly large scale and complex strategy game, August 8, 2006
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Emperor of the Fading Suns (CD-ROM)
This game has all the makings of a wonderful turn based strategy game. In many ways it is better than MOO or Galactic Civilizations (particularly having a non-generic feel to the universe.) The only real problem is it's somewhat unbalanced and feels somewhat unfinished at times.

Wow: best Turn based space opera of all!, October 17, 2010
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars

What a shame this isn't better known: Great, deep, inteligent, accessible, good UI, hex based sea-land and network-web locations in space, explore, build, war-or-peace, diplomacy, trade, reasearch, leaders, special options, special units, hidden objects, enough mystique in small aspects of what is otherwsie a HUGE but clear and complex universe, some nice video too. I'm struggling to load it into my Windows XP (No problems with 2000/ME). Lots of update patches out there to upgrade the various small bugs (a few crashes likely in the basic game) and the AI (which is only OK otherwise). Head to head is possible.
An absolute classic of all time, on a par with Lucas arts 'Star Wars-Rebellion' alas also seeming to pass into history; get it if you can.
(BTW CD not needed to play)
