I first owned this as an album...which dates me considerably... but i have found it just as captivating to young listeners as when my now twenty-year-old daughter was just a girl. I teach this story in our sixth grade literature book. The series comes with an oral reading on cd, but it seems quite empty when you have heard it with the expressive voice and music of this rendition. This cd will inspire youngsters to expand their imaginations and join this ageless story. It is excellent for teaching theme and mood!
