Wow. Words can't really even describe the heights this album has achieved, somehow Tom Withers manages to out do himself on every LP he makes. Other Electronic Music producers should really take note. (that's right, not just Junglists) Most of the album revolves around a very Old School Brit Punk sound, which we should really have more of in Drum n Bass, because lord knows modern punk bands can't do the job very well. The downtempo tunes which he has also been revered for are well placed and don't detract from the pace of the album. (although some really great tracks on the UK version aren't found in the US version, it still doesn't take away from the value this CD gives you) All in all, Klute's classic style, 80's synth homages and authentic blend of "Punk n Bass" mesh together nicely for what is easily his best work yet. It also makes for a great introductory CD for anyone wanting to get into Drum and Bass and/or Electronic Music.

i think its def worth a listen and for all u klute fans heres a mix to an all klute set.

This is Klute's finest work & may be the best D&B album of the year. I'm not gonna go to far into depth as I really just thought this was given an unfair rating just because another reviewer thought it was by another artist. Anyone who's ever been interested in drum & bass or even electronic dance music for that matter. You get 2 discs of phenominal music from start to finish, there's not one track on the entire album that you'll wanna skip over. Even my friends that don't normally get into D&B love this album. You must buy KLUTE'S album, you won't be disapointed!!!

Very good album.....I am probably one of the only Blackmen who listen to
Drum and Bass music but hey who cares. Klute is one of my favorite, I think he has out done my two other favorites: High Contrast and Goldie.

First let me say I was heavily tuned into the drum n bass music scene as a dj from years 2000-2004. During that period of time the heavy dark sound, along with fast innovative techy sounds dominated the scene. As I was phasing out of the "scene" around 2004 the sound started to become a little to "jmpy/candy raver/videogamey" for my tastes. Now that is not to say that this album is a throw back to a darker time. Rather it uniquely strikes a very thoughtful and fun balance between dark and light. The baselines on the Empereors new clothes are often forboding and heavy, without sounding like they are trying to be evil. Furthermore he uses many "lighter/airy" sounds to juxtapose the darker elements, creating a very unique and mature listening experience. Having been out of the scene for such a long time this album is quite refreshing! Thanks for reading.

I got this product faster than predicted. Came to me clean and in mint condition, I would get more products from this seller down the road.

If you love house music you won't be dissapointed as i was. I expected this to be less house and more chill. There are a few tracks that are unique enough to keep the cd, but given an opportunity to review the entire cd I would not have bought a second time.

I don't usually write reviews on Amazon, but I found it very unfortunate that this album didn't just get a plain 5 star average customer review. This is Klute at his best. With this album, he proves that he is one of the most genuine, daring, talented artists in the entire electronica genre. BIG UPS!!
