The Empire Strikes Back Darth Vader Bespin Duel

I was impressed w/ the way they re-sculpted the helmet... looks more symmetrical and solid than the original. The eyes have a red tint as well... very nice. However, the first thing that came to mind when I removed Vader from the packaging was "How did the evil Galactic Overlord become so skinny?" Darth Vader has been one of my all-time favorite characters from the original Star Wars trilogy, and I was a little bit disappointed with this figure in particular. In comparison w/ the orginal figure produced in the 90's, this new one appeared a bit slim. I mean, the original looked a bit more buff and intimidating. But perhaps I may be too picky w/ detail... to someone else, play-value may be more important than detail. Yeah, and his lightsaber action is cool... strong enough to knock Jango Fett off the shelf. Anyway, let me sum it all up.

Pros:
-resculpted helmet
-costume is a bit more detailed than original from the 90's
-magnet in left hand supports lightsaber handle, to give a more dramatic pose
-"lightsaber-slash" action, wider arc than the Bespin Luke

Cons:
-doesn't appear as buff as 90's original
-waist and arms are in awkward position, but this is probably to make the lightsaber motion easier
-cape comes off too easily when swinging lightsaber

The most impressive Vader sculpt to date. Cape is sculpted to simulate "wind-blown" effect on Cloud City as Vader extends his gauntlet to plead with battered Bespin Duel Luke (sold seperately) to join him. Press the button on his back and Vader delivers a slicing attack with his saber that cuts the included vertical support beam accessory in half or to deliver the fatal blow that severs Bespin Duel Luke's detacheable hand! Saber features a metallic hilt with detachable blade that can be "summoned" into his magnetic hand by the Force. To sum it all up, this figure is "Impressive... Most impressive..." Bespin Duel Darth Vader is figure # 30 in Collection 2.

this figure is sweet!! he comes with a lightsaber and a walkway piece with pipes you can slice off. i havent opened my vader because i have the very rare kind with his fingers curled instead of them sticking out. if you see a vader with his fingers curled get it. even if you see a darth vader bespin duel get it anyway because he is very rare. it took me two months to find it.

Along with the Bespin Duel Luke, this is one of the best 3.75 inch Star Wars figures ever. You can now accurately recreate the climatic scene from Empire with Vader reaching out to his injured son. Accessories include part of the walkway which you can slice through with Vader's lighsaber for real movie-like action damage. Just a great figure.

IT LOOKS JUST LIKE THE ACTUAL DARTH VADER. IF THIS TOY IS NOT AVAILIBLE IN TOYSRUS I'D TRY [a local store]. YOU CAN COLLECT ALL THE SITH LORDS AND THE EMPEROR(IF HE COMES OUT). RIGHT NOW IM GOING CRAZY SEARCHING FOR ANIKIN, MAUL, AND DECOO. YOU CAN ALSO CREATE SCENES FROM THE MOVIE WITH DARTH VADER, ANIKIN, YODA, LUKE, MACE, OBI WAN, AND OTHERS.IF YOU GET THIS TOY I HOPE YOU HAVE LOTS OF FUN WITH IT!!!

A really cool figure Especially since Vader's right hand removed while holding the lightsaber handle is a nice touch to recreate The story from the Book the Glove of darth vader, it is exactly like his right hand glove, but, hasbro should Make him exactly like this on without The windblown effect, but still The details are incredible especially with the Head's detials, but I suggest you get this figure and the Bespin dual Luke Skywalker so you can Reenact the Battle between luke and Vader on Bespin but what would be cool is if Hasbro could Make a Sculted Plastic diarama just the way it looks in the movie

This is probably one of the weakest Darth Vader figures Hasbro has ever produced. I bought it sight unseen, since Amazon had no image up at the time I ordered it. The figure replicates the scene from the end of The Empire Strikes Back, where Vader offers his hand to Luke on the catwalks of Bespin.

Pro: The catwalk prop is cool; it comes with detatchable beams that Vader can slice through with his Lightsaber. They even have a cool-looking "Scorched" effect to them. Very nice!

Cons: (Yes, plural...)- Vader is too skinny; The body is out of proportion with the head. The wind-blown cape looks nice, but the Lightsaber slash is useless with the cape on, since you can't get to the button. But that's not really a problem, since it's practically impossible to keep the cape on in the first place. As in all of the other new figures, the magnet is too weak to really do much unless the Lightsaber is almost in the figure's hand to begin with, but since Vader's hand is open, it does work better than most. The figure looks nice, if posed exactly like in the movie scene, but otherwise, it's not much fun. There are better Vader figures to be had, but the ones out now are not so hot. The best, in my opinion, is the one Hasbro issued around the time Phantom Menace was in Theaters.

i feel stupid reviewing this toy because i havent gotten it yet but i really really really want it!!!!!!! someone who has the toy review it and tell me if its good ok??? thanks.
