Worth it or Bust it!,

This review is from: Employment and Labor Law (Hardcover)
This book is very well written, with solid legal definitions, along with additional case examples to show recent court rulings. I however feel the price paid for this book is a tad bit to steep! I have paid less for other labor books that are equal to the quality shown forth in this book. There is nothign so profound or so unique to justify such a expensive price.

Great Legal Handbook,
By Ty Hyderally "Ty Hyderally" (Kinnelon, NJ, US) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Employment and Labor Law (Hardcover)
This is a great book regarding employment law. Not only is it very well written, it is very easy to follow. I like that there are several examples of cases regarding employment law and also lists of current rulings. This is very helpful! It is certainly a recommendation for laymen and lawyers alike.

Best text book I've ever read ... ever.,

Let's face it, most text books are written 8x longer than they should be, and seem more like the author is trying to show off their vocabulary as opposed to teach the reader something. This book kept my interest from the front page to the last. It will be one of the few text books I keep!

Lawyer Speak,

This review is from: Employment and Labor Law (Hardcover)
The book is a bit hard to get through if you're a non-lawyer. I find that some of the longer cases require a lot of internet research to understand the logic behind reasoning because it will site sections of the law by clause or number without telling you what that section says or means. I have to keep my computer nearby to look up some "lawyer speak" words that I don't understand.
Might be a great textbook for law classrooms, but for the HR class I used it for it's a bit heavy handed. I'd prefer something that I could use as a resource at the end of the class, but this textbook is so think (figuratively and literally) that I don't think it will be a go-to for me.

This book does not assume you are a lawyer or have a great deal of legal training. It suits the class I am taking perfectly. Well written if at times a little bit slanted toward unionism and labor rights over management, but then, that is to be expected a little.

It contains a lot of information. Each case is explained in detail and what the court's ruling was and why. Very clear content.

The book was in great shape and was exactly what I ordered. It also arrived in time. I would recommend anyone to use this site to order their books from.
