About the Author

Nicolas Valcik currently works as an Associate Director of Strategic Planning and Analysis for the University of Texas at Dallas. He has fourteen years experience working in that department and specializes in faculty analysis, information technology, efficiency analysis, and software development. Prior to working at the University of Texas at Dallas, Nicolas worked at the Economic Development Corporation for the City of Duncanville, City of McKinney – City Manager’s Office, and at NORTEL as a competitive analyst. Nicolas received his Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Dallas in Public Affairs in 2005, Master’s of Public Affairs from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1996, Bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1994, and an Associate’s in Political Science from Collin County Community College in 1994. His research interests include fiscal management in a university environment, faculty productivity, and issues in public management.
