5.0 out of 5 stars If you love alternative rock February 7, 2012
By McCain
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
This cd is great. In my opinion it is not as good as their first album but their first album really set the bar. Regardless this cd is very inspirational with great lyrics and in most of the songs you feel the emotions from the singer and band. If you are considering buying this I would recommend it. I mean a Christian band that sounds this good does not come by everyday.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Sophomore Album December 11, 2011
By Ulven
Format:Audio CD
Lots of bands have a difficult time with their sophomore, the problem is that their debut album is often their best work. I loved Close Your Eyes first cd. It was fresh and a positive breath of air in a music scene contaminated with bands more concerned with their hair than the quality of their music and lyrics. That being said, I think this sophomore release from Close Your Eyes is a worth addition to their discography. The lyrics are thought provoking and uplifting and of course the hardcore punk/melodic hardcore feel of the music only adds to the upbeat feeling the band is trying to convey. I've seen these guys live once and they are honest, genuine dudes who just play music and sing about the struggles we all deal with. I highly recommend this album for people who are fans of the Wake The Dead era Comeback Kid and before.

5.0 out of 5 stars Empty hands and heavy hearts December 14, 2011
Format:Audio CD
This album is great in my opinion. the lyrics are about struggles we all endure and overcoming them. the music is very hardcore/post hardcore but not every song sounds the same; it changes enough to be different every song but stays similiar enough to still be the same band. the vocals are the main reason to make this a 5 star and not a 4 star cd. he doesnt yell constantly or overdue it. when he yells (or screams depending on how you hear it, to me its more of a yell) it sounds so genuine and real and it fits perfectly into every song, almost like a rant but rant is not the proper word. when he does yell for a certain period of time it is like an uplifting speech almost. His cleans are very good as well. they are not to high to the point of obnoxiousness, they are perfectly in the center of the upper register. All in all a great record. if these guys ever come to town i'll be there. one of my favorite cd's.
