Ask any Latino and they'd most probably sing in unison "Piel Morena... Ay caramba" :D

If my reason for listening to Latin Music is "Amor A La Mexicana", "En Extasis" is my reason to die for it. I'd die for every note played, I'd die for every voice Thalia sang in this album.

If people find me overenthusiastic, so go and listen to the CD yourself... NO ONE ELSE CAN EVER DO IT BETTER THAN THALIA, EMILIO ESTEFAN JR., KIKE SANTANDER, THE CRESCENT MOON TEAM.

I adore LATIN MUSIC. I adore every bit of an EMILIO ESTEFAN JR. product. I'd be a slave for Thalia's one note of "Quiero Hacerte El Amor".

This CD is not essential, this CD is THE SIGN FROM GOD, MAKING US BELIEVE IN HEAVEN ON EARTH.

As the Americans say... THALIA ROCKS!!!

I love this CD because it showcases Thalia's exceptional talent in singing different types/kinds of songs. I particularly like the "Me Faltas Tu" song because I only not like the haunting sad love song it has but how Thalia sung it. It has full of emotion and feelings that somehow you feel sympathetic to its song's story. I also like the jazzy songs of "Me Erotizas", "Llevame Contigo" and "Fantasia"! I also like "Piel Morena" and "Amandote". "En Extasis" is my favourite Thalia record album to date! This is an excellent CD! If you like Spanish songs, I recommend you to buy this particular CD. Thalia has a very beautiful voice! A great artist! By the way, even though, Spanish is not my first language, I was able to learn the meaning of the lyrics of this record album because I love Thalia's music that much.

Very powerfull album. Every song is great except "Juana" it's uhhhhhhhh not really good:( You don't have to listen to 'Juana'

Thalia's album "En Extaisis" is Thalia's Best work, yes even better than "Amor A La Mexicana". This album showcases Thalia's fantastic voice. Her unique voice brings this album a romantic and etoxicating attitude. This album is loaded with ballads, something that did not happen with her later album "Amor A La Mexicana". This album is a MUST HAVE!!! She even co-wrote a song "Lagrimas" dedicated to her boyfriend who passed away a year before the release of her album. Thalia is an awesome performer, she puts on fabulous shows. Thalia's crossover will mean major hit, and major competition for the U.S. Divas ...

Para mí es siempre muy fácil escribir un review musical...casi a diario lo hago de una infinitud de discos. Sin embargo no sé lo que me pasa siempre que me propongo a hablar de "En Extasis"...

La verdad es que no encuentro palabras suficientes o adecuadas para describir la calidad de ese disco que, para mi, es uno de los mejores (latinos) de los 90's. Es increíble la dulzura y potencia de la gran voz de Thalia y todavía mas increíble la mezcla perfecta de sonidos como el jazz, salsa, dance, bolero, bossa nova y hasta algunos de origen arabe.

Y que decir de las composiciones? "Lagrimas en mi alma que ahogan mis palabras/Empapando de recuerdos cada instante sin ti/Lagrimas en mi alma que nublan la mirada/Y me hacen entender que aún existes para mi" (Lagrimas, Thalia) - "Cuando estoy contigo no me importa nada/Sólo tu cariño, sólo tus palabras/Le doy gracias a la vida, le doy gracias al amor/Por haber nascido en el mismo siglo tu y yo" (Gracias A Dios, Juan Gabriel) - "Tengo la alondra por mi ventana/Cruzando el cielo azul/Tengo el rocio de la mañana/Pero me faltas tu/Tengo el derroche de tantas noches/Que da la juventud/Tengo mil besos que lleva al viento/Pero me faltas tu....y es que me faltas tu..."(Me Faltas Tu, Kike Santander) Creo que ellas dicen por si solas...!

No sé lo que sucedió a Thalia: en aquél entoces era sencilla, sincera, hacía buena musica, tenía mucho frescor y singularidad, escribía sus canciones, cantava con mucha fuerza y pasión... y ya no! Ahora hace cosas como "I Want You", "Tu Y Yo", "Baby, I'm In Love"...un sonido muy frívolo y poco original. Quizás se vendió...

Bueno, así es la vida...lo que puedo decir es que no tengan dudas en obtener esa obra maestra. No se arepentirán!

well i am certainly quieted on this one. thalia has done some impressive work here and to me, made a breakthrough in the shadow of her own legend. obviously, she is a mega-star who is recognized by billions of people all over the world, and especially in mexico. i just have to say- juana j is so cute! what an adorable song!!! she sang actually- BEAUTIFULLY on this one- nice, fragile vocals. her little laugh thing on the chorus was so infectious and made a memorable touch to the song. she doesn't have to be an exceptionally endowed vocal prowess like mariah carey- i think a tiny, thin, sweet voice is also enchanting in its own right. i was really impressed- see songs like this i really like- most people would describe them as childish but to me, i find them charming, because these are songs you rarely hear. i mean- WHO records in a style that is truly cutesy and even a little young? britney spears may do teen-pop, but even she is ever-striving to record in a more mature style- mature mature mature- everyone's always striving to be mature these days. i think they should unleash the inner child! fun songs would be in order. i'm so sick of the recycled- "minor key" hit pops songs with usually a darker sound to them. do u know what i'm saying? like, as opposed to a bright, happy pop song, like maybe mariah's "dreamlover"- a more prevalent hit today would be britney spears hit "baby one more time" or "oops i did it again". i'm not so thrilled for those type of tunes. i like a happier song. to me its just catchier. aneway, getting back to thalia, i even like the title of the album "in ecstasy"- its a nice idea and image to sell, though thank god she didn't take off all her clothes in the process. this i'd say is probably one of her classiest productions, along with her 2000 release "arrasando"- americans, get ready! and i must mention, my favorite song of hers, though not on this album, is "Mundo de Cristal"- its so lulling and sweet. very soft- i think thalia has rendered the most emotion ever, on this song. amazing! i also loved "quiero hacerte el amor"- this was a beautiful sweet melody. for some reason, i just really like thalia on ballads. there's a super-sweet, super-soft, delicate side to her voice that she doesn't let out too often. she's mostly belting or singing in a scratchy rock/pop style voice that isn't quite flattering. i don't flip over her voice, though i think her marketing and music production could help make me a fan. i haven't bought the cd yet- though now, i really want to! judging by titles (if hopefully the music is anything like its title on this album), i'm guessing i will like "lagrimas"-which thalia co-wrote, "fantasia" as i just love fantasies, so hopefully, this will be a nice, sappy, uplifting ballad. also i'm looking forward to hearing "te quiero tanto" and "me erotizas". i just personally think graciela beltran has a better voice- but i said only VOICE NOT music!!!! thalia's light pop music is always a nice, appreciate touch, but combine that with graciela's true singing ability, and it would be a match made in heaven. now, graciela's music is something to be desired- oofa, its horrible. but that's another story. for now, i'm pretty psyched over thalia, and now that she's dating tommy mattola, unfortunately for mariah, sparks may fly-- higher than fourth of july.

Ok, Thalia fans! Ready for my review for this album? I also have this one, fortunately!! Here we go! I bought this in 1997 and I still listen to it as if it were new and here's why:

1) Piel Morena - 5/5 - Great song with great lyrics! Great dance song, performed by many Thalia imitators, yet no one can do it like she does.
2) Juana - 5/5 - Oh, yeah, song about getting it with your best friend's man. Not a song to dedicate to or sing to your "Juana"!
3) Quiero Hacerte El Amor - 5/5 - Great, "I'm lonely" song even though the title in English means, "I Want To Make Love To You", there is no erotism whatsoever in this song, which makes it good.
4) Amándote - 5/5 - Great upbeat song, about being, "In Ecstasy" with the one you love and care about. Great to dedicate to your mate.
5) Llévame Contigo - 5/5 - Great song to dedicate to that guy or girl you're after!!
6) Me Erotizas - 0/5 - Only bad song in this album, and the track that I gave this album 4 stars for. The lyrics are great, but the rhythm and the way the song is arranged... it just doesn't cut it with me.
7) Gracias A Dios - 5/5 - Also a great song to dedicate to your mate, "I Thank God..." in English and in this song, you thank God for having the one you love by your side.
8) Lágrimas - 5/5 - Another great sad love song and yet another song that Thalia dedicated to her first and greatest love, the one that left not to ever come back again.
9) Te Quiero Tanto - 5/5 - "I Love You So Much". Need I say more?
10) Te Dejé La Puerta Abierta - 5/5 - Upbeat, catchy and sexy, but not erotic. Another great song.
11) Fantasía - 5/5 - Great song. It talks about when someone's in your mind and you have the wildest fantasies with that person all the time, and that person tells you, "No matter how hard you try, you'll never escape me because I'm always on your mind."
12) Me Faltas Tú - 5/5 - Great melodic song with a great slow, sad beat. It talks about when you have everything except for the one person that you love the most in this world.
13) Piel Morena (Remix) - 5/5 - Better than the original one because it's longer and it makes you want to dance even more.
14) María La Del Barrio - 5/5 - Great song and great soap opera.

That's it for this one. If you don't have this album yet, buy it, and if you do, enjoy it.
