It follows 2004's "The Absurd Nightclub Comedy Of Eugene Mirman" on Suicide Squeeze (voted one of the Best Albums Of 2004 by both The Onion and Time Out NY). Eugene blends things he notices in the world with talking about them in a funny way. Sometimes, without meaning to, he blows people's minds. He's sorry, but who else will tell you the truth about math teachers, religion, and bears?

Here's a true story from last night. I'd just bought Mirman's album and I load it up on my ipod. I haven't even listened to the album until I head up to bed at about 2 AM. So I go upstairs, my wife's been in bed and asleep for a good two hours or so and I get in bed, taking care not to wake her up. My mistake was grabbing the ipod and listening to Mirman's album. Now I'm laying next to her, trying not to laugh, feeling like my ribs are going to shatter cuz I'm holding it in. I am literally shaking as I struggle to stay quiet.

Mirman is a funny guy. At the core of his comedy is solid writing but his quirky delivery style flavors the whole performance. I found the entire performance very entertaining. Do check this out.

lol, gotta love Eugene. Even when his audience doesn't initially laugh, he gets in a good zinger at himself and they laugh at that. He's witty without being condescending, and uncomplicated without seeing contrived. However, if you're not a fan of irreverant humor, this may not be for you.

this and his other cd are both so good its like i never saw them coming. his style and delivery are perfect for the absurdity of his jokes. anyone who is a fan of the modern comedy renaissance of comedians like david cross, patton oswalt, brian posehn, maria bamford, todd glass, jimmy dore, zach galifiniakis, todd barry, blane capach, eddie pepitone, and the list goes on...you will love this man and his body of work.
