Two unforgettable nights, one incredible artist: Roberto Carlos took to the stage on Thursday May 24 and Friday May 25, 2007, and wowed audiences with his greatest hits sung in Spanish. For fans of this legendary Brazilian artist,it was a much-awaited return.

Roberto Carlos had not performed in the U.S. for a decade. Returning to perform at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Miami (formerly: Carnival Center for The Performing Arts). Roberto Carlos performed two shows produced by Day 1 Entertainment; the incomparably talented singer and songwriter, backed up by his band E Coral, once again demonstrated why he has sold over 100 million records worldwide.

On the second night of "Roberto Carlos en Concierto," the performance was recorded for what will become Roberto Carlos' fi rst DVD ever in Spanish! Delighting the audience at the sold-out theater with classics such as `Emociones,' `Desahogo,' `El Día Que Me Quieras' and `Amigo,' among others. At the end of the concert, and after a standing ovation, Roberto Carlos came back and performed to three encores as a gesture of gratitude to his loyal fans and audience.

Portuguese-speaking fans and lovers of Roberto Carlos' songs in his native language were also acknowledged with the song `Acrostico.' This "Live" performance will delight all fans of Roberto Carlos for many years to come.

I cannot tell you the number of times I have heard a woman say, "Julio Iglesias can put his shoes under my bed anytime!" Unquestionably, Julio Iglesias has brought Latin music to the American consciousness like no other artist. But having been a fan of Roberto Carlos for nearly twenty years, I cannot begin to tell you the excitement and passionate adoration this wonderful tenor creates and especially among women! It is a great pity that in the United States he has not had the exposure or success of Julio Iglesias.

I was fortunate enough to see Roberto Carlos perform in Atlantic City a decade ago. That concert was tremendous and the crowd enthusiasm was similar to what you actually hear on this disc. I could wish for other great hits (En Serio, La Ventana, etc. etc.) to have been sung during this concert in Miami, but all the songs recorded here are outstanding. At sixty five at the time of this concert, his voice shows little sign of aging.

This is a great CD! You do not even have to know Spanish to appreciate the expressiveness and Latin soul of these songs. To hear him sing, you will quickly understand why any women admirer of his would not only give her body to him but also... her heart and soul.

I have the DVD to this CD and I think Amazon has taken reviews from other
live concerts and plopped them into this version of "Acustico". It is a small gathering of just about 150 people in a closed room with just a few string
instruments and a few guests. There is none of the "partying" sounds another
reviewer complained about. (I fear he doesn't undertand the way RC impacts
his fans in a live performance).
This is a sweet album but not rowdy and electric as are his huge concerts. Please see my review for the DVD "Acustico" and compare the songs. They are the same. There is also a CD out called "Acustico" which is the same as this so-called "En Vivo" version. Why they put out the same music with different titles and jackets is beyond me, but I've learned to pay attention before buying to avoid duplications. This is when I get crazy when they try to sell his CD's with no product information so you know what is included in the CD. How can a person know if they already have the same music but under a different title - such as how this CD is produced! (The cover for the "Acustico" DVD and CD is much better with close ups of his gorgeous face).

This is a great CD and I don't mean to say to ignore the other reviews - but
keep in mind that Amazon moves reviews around without knowing what they are doing. It is very clear they don't know RC's music and just want to plug
as many positive ratings in as many places as they can to sell more product.
This is a quiet, intimate and fairly brief MTV production. You see him close up as he talks a great deal about Maria Rita, his wife, who died in 1999. Again, read my review for the "Acustico" DVD. It will help you understand how different this CD and the performance is from that described in the other misplaced reviews.

I was really looking forward to this CD because Roberto Carlos is one of my favorite latino artists. However; it was not what I expected, I don't feel the quality was put into this live performance, it sounded more like one big party at a football stadium! I miss the beauty, the sincerity and clearer versions that I was used to hearing on the radio.
