About the Author

After my children were grown, I found myself restless, searching for ways to busy my idle hands and mind. I discovered my love of writing, and I was drawn to the mystique of Indian lore. What I learned about the Native American people inspired me to bring their stories to life through the wonderful genre of historical romance.

Having lived in St. Louis for thirty years, my husband and I returned to Mattoon, Illinois, when he retired from teaching. My dream house is peaceful and quiet, where an occasional curious red fox ventures onto my sundeck and peeks into my office, and where I can watch swallows building their nest and raising their babies right outside my kitchen window. It is the perfect place to create my novels.

I feel blessed to have found a “second life,” the first having been spent raising two happy and healthy sons. Writing my Indian romances is my small tribute to those beautiful first people of our land who have suffered so much injustice. And I have just begun. My upcoming books will continue with more passion and adventure and rich historical settings. Enjoy!

Rochelle Jackson embarks upon a treacherous path of manipulation when she vows revenge upon the Yankee who killed her brother and father. Steven can't help the niggling feeling that he's met this devastatingly beautiful woman before, but her denials are enough to put him off track. Cassie Edwards brings great enthusiasm and vivaciousness to her newest novel, ENCHANTED ENEMY. Her account of riverboat travel complete with "grasshoppering" over sandbars and wildly sensual, stolen moments creates a dramatic background for revenge and love. Heated emotions walking the fine line between hate and love heighten the eroticism, making the concept of an enchanted enemy a marvelous play on words. While the plot line breaks no new ground with his adherence to formula, the characters are vividly realized, making ENCHANTED ENEMEY a recommended read.

The story starts out with revenge on her mind and love in his heart. He has killed for the Union Army and the first person he killed was her brother. The ending is predictable (but what romance isn't?) but the journey to the end was very enjoyable. The twists and turns. Can love survive betrayal? Can love survive the hurt and hatred of war? Can love survive? For hopeless and hopeful romantics, we can both hope.
