Review

This charming story, narrated by 9-year-old Serena Hanna starts with her coming home from school to find herself alone. Her cookies and fruit juice are there for her, but this particular day, she feels a little lonely. It doesn t take her long to find a way to entertain herself by dancing and playing in her garden outside while waiting for her mother to come home. As she plays in the garden, she starts to notice little differences from the usual time she spends there. There is lovely sparkling dust on some of the grass and leaves. Then she sees very pretty children appear one by one. However, these children are dressed in silks and gauzes and they have wings. Serena is perplexed. They surround her and tell her a story about herself. Serena, at one time you were one of us, but you chose to go away and lead the life you have now. We are fairies and we will teach you to be one of us again. The fairies proceed with certain rituals. Serena is transformed into a fairy and so are the animals. They teach her how to be in touch with the magical side of life and how to respect nature s elements; fire, water and air. They introduce her to the magical properties of the flowers, trees and living forest. Serena, you are the lonely fairy. You wanted to be with us again and we give you your wish. There appears a woman with a large snake around her body. This is the lesson.... Overcome your fears . However, even though Serena is closer to what she wants, she must go through other magical rituals. A white horse comes on the scene. A beautiful fairy all dressed in white is riding. She is told to continue her journey and look for the Tree Sprites. When she meets them, she learns of The Giving of Thanks . Rain falls and Serena is Swept along the flow of life . This is clearly the story about the magic which exists in our lives, (which we have forgotten after growing up), and which banishes loneliness and strife. It is about being in touch with one s inner peace and power. We can see how easy it is to appreciate the magic in life when seen through the eyes of a child Serena goes through other beautiful rituals; the dance, Voice of the Ancients . They all dance like flowers, into the night. This is a charming story; narrated beautifully by little Serena and portrays lovely, innocent children with large, beautiful eyes dressed in gauze and silk costumes with wings to match. We are stardust,.......shine on, shine on............. --Judith Lynn De Stefano 2009

5.0 out of 5 stars Enchanting December 27, 2012
The Enchanted Garden is simply breathtaking! The music is enchanting and the dancing is elegant and graceful. The story follows the tale of a little girl who finds herself in the world of the fae when the veil between worlds is lifted. She meets fairies and mermaids and all other types of mythical creatures. They are dressed in vibrant and beautiful colors that left my three year old riveted and even my twelve year old daughter couldn't tear her eyes away. The story may seem like its pure fantasy with fairies and other magical beings, but there are also many lessons in the story. Children will learn about the magic of the elements and the unity of all things. It also encourages them to enjoy the art of music and dance. As an adult, I even enjoyed the bright, colorful costumes and pagan theme. There are chants I know well and have used in ritual. I would recommend this DVD to anyone who enjoys fantasy or follows a New Age path.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love It! May 2, 2012
I've given this as a gift to a friend with a daughter who is 9 years old like Syrena in the DVD. She loves it and dances and sings with it daily. The costumes, songs, dance and narration are beautiful and playful but also convey deep perennial truths. There is no other DVD that I know of for kids that celebrates earth-based spirituality. I highly recommend it for children and the young at heart.
