Editorial Reviews

Review

"I think that this book is some of Moore's finest work. Making best use of the deck and book is an act of personal empowerment." -- Aeclectic Tarot, May 2008

Review

"This deck and book set is perfect for one-card daily readings. This would be an excellent first deck, and with the silver bag and faerie pendant (which can be used as a pendulum), it also makes a perfect gift for the faerie lovers."

"True to my hopes, these ladies teamed up to make a lovely divinitory kit."

"To sum up, this is a nicely-presented, interesting and thoughtful oracle deck."

More About the Author

Tarot has been a part of Barbara Moore's life for over twenty years. Right from the start, tarot intrigued her with its marvelous blending of mythology, psychology, art, history, mystery, and magic, as well as its eminently practical applications. In addition to providing professional readings, Barbara consults for both Llewellyn Worldwide and Lo Scarabeo and is one of the founders of the Minnesota Area Tarot Symposium (http://minnesotatarot.com/).

Barbara enjoys giving a voice to tarot cards not only by doing readings but also by writing the books that accompany decks. She has had the good fortune to write books and booklets for several decks, including A Guide to Mystic Faerie Tarot, The Gilded Tarot Companion, The Enchanted Oracle, The Mystic Dreamer Tarot, The Vampires of the Eternal Night Tarot, The Witchy Tarot, The Dream Enchantress Tarot, Tarot of the Sweet Twilight, and Shadowscapes Tarot, Pagan Cats Tarot, The Pagan Magical Kit, and The Book Shadows Tarot, volumes 1 and 2. In the fall of 2010, her new edition of Llewellyn's Tarot for Beginners was released.

A Hermit at heart, Barbara has been getting out and about more, speaking at conferences, such as MATS, TABI, and Readers Studio as well as appearing on Beyond Worlds. When not exercising her newfound social skills, she is busy playing with her cards, writing Llewellyn's tarot blog, designing an exciting new tarot deck, and working on a novel that may very well include fortune telling.

The pictures on Amazon do not represent the actual product, which is a good thing. The picture shows the book, and that is all. In reality, the product is the book, the 36 cards, the silver bag, a fairy pendant/necklace, all boxed in a container that resembles the book, but is different.

Although the cards are beautiful, I was really disappointed in this collection. The 36 cards feature almost the same exact poses (a girl looking over her shoulder). Almost all of them are fairies, and although I don't mind that, I would have liked some more variety. The necklace is something you would get from out of a toy machine, and is clearly directed at teens, as another reviewer said. The bag is low quality, but I expected as much because most drawstring bags are.

The cards, however beautiful, are not strong. They, too, are low quality and don't seem very inspiring.

The entire set is very juvenile, and perfect for teens just starting out in tarot cards. Although these ARE NOT TAROT CARDS, this deck could be useful for someone trying to start out small and looking for meaning in a small deck before jumping up to a 78-card deck.

I was disappointed, but maybe someone else will like this.

I was somewhat disappointed with these cards. The art work is incredable!! However, the quality of the cards is not what I expected. They look cheep. I expected the cards to look and be of good quality and they are rather thin and the color is not as vivid as I would have liked. I am familiar with Jessica Galbreth's art work and it is exceptionally beautiful. I expected the cards to be no different. It's not that the color needs to be red or orange, it's just that it looks like they tried to use less ink? They are thin and flimsy. Other cards that I have purchased have used better material for their cards. It's as if they are not the 'real' product, and I purchased a replica.

They have beautiful art work and the book is good. I haven't worked with them much since I got them because I was soooo disappointed in how they looked. I couldn't wait for them to arrive and then I saw how they looked and really haven't picked them up but a few times since. The book is detailed and has good information in it. If you are looking for a good set to start with this would probably be one you can use.

If I had known about the cards before, I would not have bought the deck. Yes, the pictures are pretty; but I wanted them to be the exceptional quality that Jessica Galbreth is known for and I just didn't think these were it.

"Here you will find knowledge, skills and tools that will help you craft the magical life of your dreams." ~ Excerpt from "Destiny's Portal."

Opening the box of this set was a real treat. The images are gorgeous. Some are whimsical and innocent, while others are a bit dark and intense. These faeries definitely make you want to unfold your wings and fly with them.

The artwork for the "Enchanted Oracle" has been created, by the talented, Jessica Galbreth. This deck is the first by this artist, but you can find her work in numerous formats, from prints, greeting cards, calendars, books and collectible figurines.

Jessica lives in Ohio with her husband and their two children. She considers herself largely self-taught, even though she did study fine art for three years at the Toledo Museum of Art. Most of her work is done with watercolor, pen and ink.

The cards are standard size with a matte finish. They are borderless, with a small title bar on the bottom. The card backs are simple but elegant, done in black and lavender and are reversible.

The two hundred and forty page book was written by Barbara Moore and reads like Magic 101. The book also contains four one card spreads, a three card and a four card spreads. The cards are not numbered so they are listed alphabetically. Using the book, you will see that not only can you read each card, but each also leads to an exercise using a pendulum, spell work, journaling, crystal and oils.

Barbara is an active member of the American Tarot Association. She enjoys the challenge of giving a voice to tarot cards and oracle decks. She has written companion books for several other decks. Her book compliments the deck beautifully.

This deck and book set is perfect for one card daily readings. This would be an excellent first deck. With the silver bag and faerie pendant (which can be used as a pendulum), makes a perfect gift for the faerie lovers.

I love this Tarot Deck! I have over 30 Oracle and Tarot decks, and this is by far my favorite. The wisdom it imparts is of a Goddess Nature, so those who are looking for a masculine energy, stay away! The cards are vibrant and beautiful. The art work sensual and enticing. I am drawn to each of the cards in a new way every time I do a reading. I use the cards, typically, when I am interested in using ritualistic energies. Each card comes with information that enables the reader the ability to utilize a special ritual to enhance the powers of the reading. For those seeking an affirmative feminine deck, this is it!!

There are pros and cons but I love it overall. I'll get the bad out of the way first.

Cons - The "beautiful silver pouch" is just a cheap organza bag. But at least it is something to keep the cards in and keep them somewhat protected.

Cons - The fairy charm looks like something you would give your little daughter. It is basically Tinkerbell with pink wings on a black ribbon. Cute, but not something I would use in a serious practice.

Cons - Some of the spells in the book seem cheesy to me. I would rather craft my own.

Pros - The deck comes with a 240 page book that describes situations in your life that you might be going through as well as what the cards might represent. It gives some good exercises for journal writing and visualization. It gives a couple different layouts for you to use in your divination.

Pros - The artwork is beautiful. The pictures were done in watercolor, so the color is soft and easy on the eyes. The images definitely evoke emotion when you look at them.

Pros - The deck is only 36 cards. So if you are just starting out with Oracle or Tarot like I am, it is a good way to get a feel for what you are doing without being overwhelmed.

Pros - Oracle decks are based more on intuition and emotion than tarot decks are. Instead of trying to "read" the cards, I look at them and try to decide what the image is making me feel at that time. Then I refer to the section in the book for the particular cards I am using and between the descriptions and what I take from the image myself, I am able to apply them to the questions I am seeking answers to.

Pros - This deck is VERY good for single card readings. I use it every morning.
