Editorial Reviews

Review

"I think that this book is some of Moore's finest work. Making best use of the deck and book is an act of personal empowerment." -- Aeclectic Tarot, May 2008

Review

"This deck and book set is perfect for one-card daily readings. This would be an excellent first deck, and with the silver bag and faerie pendant (which can be used as a pendulum), it also makes a perfect gift for the faerie lovers."

"True to my hopes, these ladies teamed up to make a lovely divinitory kit."

"To sum up, this is a nicely-presented, interesting and thoughtful oracle deck."

Right from the start, tarot intrigued her with its marvelous blending of mythology, psychology, art, history, mystery, and magic, as well as its eminently practical applications. In addition to providing professional readings, Barbara consults for both Llewellyn Worldwide and Lo Scarabeo.

Barbara enjoys giving a voice to tarot cards not only by doing readings but also by writing the books that accompany decks.

A Hermit at heart, Barbara has been getting out and about more, speaking at conferences, such as TABI, Readers Studio, and various TarotCons around the world. When not exercising her newfound social skills, she is busy playing with her cards, writing Llewellyn's tarot blog, designing an exciting new tarot deck, and working on a novel that may very well include fortune telling.

The pictures on Amazon do not represent the actual product, which is a good thing. The picture shows the book, and that is all. In reality, the product is the book, the 36 cards, the silver bag, a fairy pendant/necklace, all boxed in a container that resembles the book, but is different.

Although the cards are beautiful, I was really disappointed in this collection. The 36 cards feature almost the same exact poses (a girl looking over her shoulder). Almost all of them are fairies, and although I don't mind that, I would have liked some more variety. The necklace is something you would get from out of a toy machine, and is clearly directed at teens, as another reviewer said. The bag is low quality, but I expected as much because most drawstring bags are.

The cards, however beautiful, are not strong. They, too, are low quality and don't seem very inspiring.

The entire set is very juvenile, and perfect for teens just starting out in tarot cards. Although these ARE NOT TAROT CARDS, this deck could be useful for someone trying to start out small and looking for meaning in a small deck before jumping up to a 78-card deck.

I was disappointed, but maybe someone else will like this.

I was somewhat disappointed with these cards. The art work is incredable!! However, the quality of the cards is not what I expected. They look cheep. I expected the cards to look and be of good quality and they are rather thin and the color is not as vivid as I would have liked. I am familiar with Jessica Galbreth's art work and it is exceptionally beautiful. I expected the cards to be no different. It's not that the color needs to be red or orange, it's just that it looks like they tried to use less ink? They are thin and flimsy. Other cards that I have purchased have used better material for their cards. It's as if they are not the 'real' product, and I purchased a replica.

They have beautiful art work and the book is good. I haven't worked with them much since I got them because I was soooo disappointed in how they looked. I couldn't wait for them to arrive and then I saw how they looked and really haven't picked them up but a few times since. The book is detailed and has good information in it. If you are looking for a good set to start with this would probably be one you can use.

If I had known about the cards before, I would not have bought the deck. Yes, the pictures are pretty; but I wanted them to be the exceptional quality that Jessica Galbreth is known for and I just didn't think these were it.

There are pros and cons but I love it overall. I'll get the bad out of the way first.

Cons - The "beautiful silver pouch" is just a cheap organza bag. But at least it is something to keep the cards in and keep them somewhat protected.

Cons - The fairy charm looks like something you would give your little daughter. It is basically Tinkerbell with pink wings on a black ribbon. Cute, but not something I would use in a serious practice.

Cons - Some of the spells in the book seem cheesy to me. I would rather craft my own.

Pros - The deck comes with a 240 page book that describes situations in your life that you might be going through as well as what the cards might represent. It gives some good exercises for journal writing and visualization. It gives a couple different layouts for you to use in your divination.

Pros - The artwork is beautiful. The pictures were done in watercolor, so the color is soft and easy on the eyes. The images definitely evoke emotion when you look at them.

Pros - The deck is only 36 cards. So if you are just starting out with Oracle or Tarot like I am, it is a good way to get a feel for what you are doing without being overwhelmed.

Pros - Oracle decks are based more on intuition and emotion than tarot decks are. Instead of trying to "read" the cards, I look at them and try to decide what the image is making me feel at that time. Then I refer to the section in the book for the particular cards I am using and between the descriptions and what I take from the image myself, I am able to apply them to the questions I am seeking answers to.

Pros - This deck is VERY good for single card readings. I use it every morning.

I was choosing between this oracle and the famous Faeries' Oracle, and ultimately decided on this because of how much I adore Jessica Galbreth's work. It's always spoken to me and been very meaningful for me. This is my first oracle deck so I wasn't sure how I would feel when using them. Upon opening them, I immediately felt an attraction to the entire set (book, cards, pendant) and knew right then and there I had to try it out. The first few pages of the book teaches you how to use an oracle and pendulum - it's actually quite easy. So I got right to it only to find that I had some trouble really connecting with the cards. Even the pendulum seemed to be mocking me. I didn't know how to feel and began to regret my decision. I laid down to rest a bit and came back to it later.

I started again with the pendulum which was suddenly working as it should, and this encouraged me so I tried once more with the cards. I sat down and really concentrated on the thought, "Show me whether I made the correct choice with this oracle." I did a three-card spread in which the cards seemed to know EXACTLY what to say to convince me that they were connecting with me. I got chills all over my body. Needless to say, I'll be sticking with this oracle.

The artwork is wonderful and the interpretations are detailed and poetic. This is great for a first deck and I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking to start out. :]
