You'll want to start this project right after you read. This is the same quality as LANDSCAPE QUILTS with Nancy Zieman & co-author- the Best Quilts on earth. Most beautiful reverse applique gated gardens, clear instructions with pictures, and paper TEMPLATES to help you get started. How to arrange colors for a garden, even mountain-scapes and stain-glass like designs included, and you don't have to include the gates if you don't wish to. There are pictures to inspire as well as a couple projects to start with. I am keeping this one next to my bedside!

Strong graphics and clear instructions make this one of my favorite quilt books. The gates are lovely, and give you the idea that you really are wandering into a secret garden once you have one of these hanging on your wall. I am researching the gates and rails of New Orleans, looking for the perfect one to use for a special piece of fabric I want to use to make one of these lovely quilts. What fun!

Quilting with a difference,

The ideas and techniques in this book are so unusual and make you want to start cutting up fabric straight away. However, although not too difficult, you'll need to be a little experienced to achieve what Dilys has done in this gem.

Dilys Fronks takes you through all the steps to make a lovely block using reverse applique...that's only the beginning.
Projects from then on will have you looking with fresh eyes at all wrought iron patterns, fanlights on houses and designs on fences. Medium size projects make striking pillow covers and table runners. Further on in the book you are encouraged to try something bigger...a beautiful garden ( for all garden lovers ) If you want to try needleturn applique then this book is for you. Dorothy

One of my favorite quilting books - an inspiration!,

Enchanted views is one of my favorite quilting books. My copy is quite worn out I use it so much! The author combines stunning photos of her works along with wonderful patents for the iron works which the reader can use in their own projects. The author's technique is to combine water color quits with beautiful black iron work fences. I used the iron work fences in combination with other techniques as well. This book was an inspiration for a large number of projects which brought me rave reviews!
Chapter 1. Ironworks as decorative element. The author shows how she draws inspiration from real ironwork and how she adapts those designs to fabric. Chapter 2. Sewing essentials. A chapter for beginners to help them to have everything they need on hand. Chapter 3. Beginner's Workshop in Reverse Applique. A good guide in this technique. This technique is used for the ironworks. Chapter 4a. The projects. 6 beautiful projects with patterns and explanations. Projects include grills, grids. Chapter 4b. Gallery of student quilts Chapter 4c. 7 more beautiful projects with patterns and explanation. Projects include stained glass, fanlights, leaded glass. Chapter 5. The garden gate wallhaning project. This chapter contains a stunning gallery of garden quilts with various fences. This book is a "keeper"! I found myself coming back to it again and again. Sometimes just to flip through pages for inspiration, sometimes to get a pattern of a fence to include in the project. Every time I look through the pages it lifts my spirit and sparks the desire to create.
