This is not a book I intended to write. It's one I had to write. After my mother's death in May of 2000, suddenly I was 'Motherless' and yet 'Momma' to two young daughters - then aged 1 and 3 ½. I was 38 and my mother was 58. Now what? And so, the journalizing began.

After some five years of writing, editing - and living my life as a mother and wife and entrepreneur - here's my tribute to the both parenthood and childhood.

What a completely enchanting and heartwarming collection of humorous and loving exchanges between parent and child (or children in this case). I couldn't help but reflect on those early years with my own children and relive those wonderful memories as I read. Momma Jean does a fabulous job showing us that we are never too old to learn, and never too young to teach. I would recommend this book to all the mommies of the world who simply love loving their children.

The title of the book says it all. It's definitely an enchanting read, in one sitting or in a month of Sundays. Lessons children learn are tempered through their delicate voices (although Momma has great bits of wisdom to add regarding the importance of letting our kids be kids). The passages are humorous, and yet, heartwarming and thought provoking at the same time. Quite an accomplishment for a first time author. Can't wait to see what Jean Lanahan comes up with next.
