4.0 out of 5 stars Another nice collection for Rose fans
With the hand-off of Rose from Pat Brady to Don Wimmer, a few of the old standbys - Vickie the Biker and Pasquale's guardian angel in battle mode, especially - seem a bit over-used, and it would be nice to see a little bit more of the simple, everyday humor the strip shows at its best. That said, there are some fresh twists on the stock sequences, and this collection is,...

2.0 out of 5 stars The strip has changed
I was wondering why the strip has altered so much in the past year or two. It's gotten downright sappy, the artwork has gotten flabby and the writing has gone downhill. What used to be interesting but cute has gotten annoying. The frequent "have to tilt the book to read the strip" shows a lack of discipline for the format.

Sorry. I liked it when only Brady...

Rose fans will enjoy, though those who are trying to win converts to the strip should offer an older collection as an introduction for those not familiar with Rose.

I just love Rose is Rose. It has a little religion (Pasquale's Guardian Angel), a little romance, a little fun with the animals...just a lot of fun to read! Everyone needs an escape - I'll take mine in the form of Rose is Rose, thanks...!

3.0 out of 5 stars Wonderloss, December 24, 2007

I am a huge Rose is Rose fan, and this is the first collection that disappointed me a little. Wimmer doesn't seem to have the same sense of wonder and perspective that Brady always showed us; the kids get too clever in their speech (Linus, Calvin, who are great in their own strips, but not here); old jokes and bad puns make too many appearances. It's not bad--it just ain't Brady. For the absolute best of Rose is Rose, go with Brady's Running On Alter Ego.

4.0 out of 5 stars I like the flip book corners, July 22, 2007

I always enjoyed making my own little flip books when I was a child, so Brady's corner use for the flip books has always been a neat feature. This book goes even a bit further - you watch both sides as you flip the corners - it's like a cartoon flip book in widescreen! Really neat - and as always, the book keeps me smiling and feeling more normal as I identify with Rose and the family life she enjoys.
