I bought this as a gift for a 10 year old girl. I wanted a jewelry box that didn't have a ballerina as the rotating figure. The butterfly and music is very pretty. The actual storage in the jewelry box is smaller than I imagined, but I still thought it was age appropriate. The post of butterfly figure needed to be adjusted when it arrived because it was rubbing on the jewelry box, causing the figure to stop. I just need to realign it and it worked fine.

This was a special retirement gift for my daughter's first grade teacher. She was a very hands on teacher and when the class studied insects, my daughter and I supplied the monarch butterfly caterpillars and leaves, so this jewelry box was the perfect gift. Besides the twirling butterfly, it has lots of little secret drawers both front and back. The teacher loved it and I've bought a second one to give to my daughter for her birthday. I know when they play their music boxes and see the butterflies twirl, they'll think of each other for years to come.

I bought this for my 3-year-old for her birthday. She loves it - the little drawers are great for her little fingers, and seem just right as 'cubbies' for little treasures. She adores the monarch butterfly, and loves to fall asleep watching it turn and listening to the music. A great buy, especially for the price.

My 5 year old son loves to collect small things like crystals, rocks, polished stones etc. And he always gets upset/frustrated that he can't find where he puts his treasures. So, I was thinking it would be a good idea to get him a special box to put his treasures in and he will always be able to find them :) After seachering and finding that there isn't a lot of "Boy" music boxes, I've decided to get this butterfly one. For one, my son LOVES butterflies and its not pink,frilly with a ballarina inside! I like that it has all neutral colors.
And btw... my son LOVES IT! He calls it his treasure box and now he can always find his speacial trinkets. Will update with video or photos later :)

My granddaughter really loved the music box. It is very sturdy, however the secret boxes are quite easy to find. I didn't rate it high on educational value, because it is just about a pretty butterfly box that plays a lovely tune.

This is a beautiful box that is very solid and sturdy. It is much heavier than I expected. I believe it will stand up to my daughter's play. The drawers are fun. They are too small to be very practical, but they will store some of her "treasures."

I bought this music box as a request from my 4 year old girl.. she likes it a lot but she is still young and likes the music and the idea more than the functional use.

I gave this to my 4 year old niece. I've not seen it myself, but I hear she loves it. She loves taking her treasures in and out of it. Wonderful gift for any little girl.

This is a great gift! It's not a toy or educational item however, it's a treasure. My husband and I truly enjoyed playing the music and marveling at the detail and repetition of the pattern design on the box. The secret compartments were novel. We plan to give this to our only grandaughter (4) at Christmas. Then we'll give her jewelry. Terrific music box! Great deal!

I purchased this as a Santa gift for my daughter in October. I loved my music box as a child. Seemed like the perfect gift. I received the item in October, but didn't check the product in the box. I was saving it for Christmas. When my daughter opened it Christmas morning, the music winder looked like it had been over-wound and didn't work. I checked Amazon, and the return period was expired. I shopped early for Christmas, and couldn't return the product without incurring cost...even though the product was not working.

I called the 800 number on the box, and they gave me the number to distribution. I called distribution, and after a couple of messages back and forth over the holiday week, the rep said they had them in inventory, and he would send me one at no charge. And, I didn't have to ship the other back.
