"pilot of the airwaves ~ Five Blind Boys of Mississippi", March 21, 2004
This review is from: Encore Collection (Audio CD)
Check out the latest release from one of the top African American gospel groups The Five Blind Boys of Mississippi and new "Encore Collection", featuring Archie Brownlee (unmatched by any standards in the ministry of music), Lawrence Abrams (tenor), Lloyd Woodard (baritone) and Joseph Ford (bass) and the rest of the boys in their prime (late '70s).
Archie Brownlee is highly recognized as being one of the greatest gospel singers of the last century ~ every cue is sensational ~ whether you're into gospel, The Blind Boys are an incredible talent.
Stands outs in my book ~ "MOTHER TOLD ME ABOUT JESUS", "I CAN'T EVEN WALK(WITHOUT YOU HOLDING MY HAND)", "IT'S BEEN DONE", "WHERE HE LEADS ME", "ALL I'M LIVING FOR" and my highlight pick is "PILOT OF THE AIRWAVES" ~ melody and lyrics flow over you ~ like a Sunday morning, if you were to visit a real Southern Gospel Baptist Church ~ this group has been together since the early '40s (not original members, though) ~ if feel the need for some great gospel hymns, listen to this album and the truly amazing talents of The Five Blind Boys of Mississippi...gotta love it!
Total Time: 51:32 on 16 Tracks ~ Fuel 2000 Records 302-061-387-2 ~ (3/02/2004)
