These people probably legitimately inherited the name "The Ink Spots" but, to those of us who grew up listening to the originals, they don't even come close to the style and substance we enjoyed. Go and look for those recordings - available on Amazon - and ignore this group who are about half as good when imitating the original group and who are sometimes even poor when doing material in a style the old group would never have attempted. I've bought these recordings before, to my dismay. Get the real Ink Spots and forget this poor imitation.

Although this CD is mainly one of the current Ink Spot groups, tracks 14,17,&18 are from a late 50's LP with Orlando Roberson, Essix Scott, Bernie Mac key, and possibly Sammy Pierce."Lord Essix" shows off his talent on "Back In Your Own Back Yard," Orlando Roberson gives us a sweet "Charmaine," and the ensemble swings out on "Life Is Just A Gamble" with one fluke by Orlando. Can't understand why Mr Sterlie inserted this with George Grant's group.

This CD contains remakes of the original classics by the Ink Spots by an inferior modern group who somehow inherited the name.
Save your hard earned money and buy one of the many CDs of the original songs and group available here on Amazon.

"OH! Boo Hoo! This isn't the original Ink Spots!" SO WHAT? Let's give these current INK SPOTS their due for keeping the magic alive, and they do on this CD!!

I don't understand these losers who go around checking to see which CD's are the original Ink Spots and which are not, who then write some half-baked review when they do not own, and have never even heard the CD's they review!! They are tone-deaf cry-babies who can only listen over and over to the same dozen Ink Spots recordings from 1940-1945 and think they must WARN the buying public that any post-1950 INK SPOTS recording is a fake, or is very poor, or "not even close". These "reviewers" know enough about the group and their records to know that this CD is not from the 1940's, so they do NOT buy such CD's! So why do they try to stop others from buying them?

There is a LOT of talent and great music and vocals to be heard on this CD. These modern versions of some of the old classics are WONDERFUL! Please ignore these jerks who elect themselves the amazon music cops, but who do not know what they are talking about, becaise they have never even heard the cd's that they are so willing to criticize! The Ink Spots LIVE ON!
