Very Interesting and Enjoyable!!, March 20, 2008
This review is from: An Unknown Encounter (DVD)
I actually own a copy of this film already and just bought a second one as a gift. This film documents a very unusual investigation of a woman in San Pedro, CA who experienced all kinds of terrifying activity in her home. What drew me in to this film was the footage of a man being attacked by an unseen entity in the attic (not something you usually see or hear about) I thought the footage was well shot and edited, the film was very entertaining, but I will admit there was one feature of this film I didn't really care for. It was the use of cheap 80's style horror graphics used randomly throughout the film. Granted that was probably really cool when the film was made but it looks terrible now and cheapens what really is a good documentary. Hopefully Barry Conrad will release a second edition and get rid of all that cheesy stuff. It would make the film even better, and come across more serious, because the footage itself is great. All in all it's one of my favorite ghost films to watch and I would recommend it. (It has two discs too...a lot for the money!) Good job!

A Kid's Review
This review is from: An Unknown Encounter (DVD)
I purchased the original VHS version many years ago. The DVD version has extra footage that in very interesting. The documentary is produced and executed in the most professional and authentic way possible. I thought The Exorcist was scary. What happens to Jackie Hernandez is beyond comprehension. This is not only one of the scariest documentary but a highly recommended one. I have viewed this at least more that 10 times because similar activity has occurred to me.
