5.0 out of 5 stars A New Look at the Truth
Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev reaches inside you and takes your intellectualizations, your emotional needs and desires, your beliefs, and all the effects of your past experiences on your life and wraps them up like a wet towel and wrings them out. What remains is an exhilarating, liberating freedom. . .

3.0 out of 5 stars Be Careful - This book is Cleverly Deceptive
I've met and heard Sandghuru speak on several occasions while he was here in the U.S.A. He is a very charismatic, sage-like being - no question about it, and everything he says "seems" to make perfect sense - blowing away all "isms" as somebody else here said. The concern I have, though, and something that really bothers me, is that he dispells any idea that seekers...

5.0 out of 5 stars Getting to Your Truth & blowing away all distractions, November 15, 2002
This review is from: Encounter the Enlightened: Conversations with the Master (English, Tamil and Telugu Edition) (Paperback)
Yesterday I finished reading this book for the second time and, once again, at one single sitting. This man blows away all dogmas, all "isms", all religious beliefs and brings us back to WHAT IS. Where are you now? Who are you? What will you do between now and your death, which could very well be immanent? He doesn't tell you what to do, just strips away the whole host of distractions that would prevent us from truly seeing the nature of our ensconcement in our perceived world. Read it! You will feel the kick to your backside that you've been waiting for.

5.0 out of 5 stars ENCOUNTER THE ENLIGHTENED, February 5, 2002

This review is from: Encounter the Enlightened: Conversations with the Master (English, Tamil and Telugu Edition) (Paperback)
Encounter the Enlightened by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev is a great reinforcement, enrichment, and remediation tool for initiates on the path to "self-realization". As an educator,self-realization is the goal of my work for every person I am privileged to teach. In Western culture, education is an "outside in proposition" and as a result fails miserably in the overall development of the individual. Education, for me equals self- realization, the foundation for self-actualization, the ultimate product of human evolution, an "inside out proposition"!

The Master has given us the practice, Sahaja Sthithi Yoga and the guide (in his absence), Encounter the Enlightened, to help us navigate the road to self-realization. The "choice" is ours to make. It is our God given gift.

This book gives an opportunity for every spiritual seeker, irrespective of their belief systems and religions, to get in touch with the energies of an Enlightened master. Every word spoken by the master resonates as a deeper sensibility within the reader and allows to experience the beginning of a new self-transformation. A transformation that brings about inner harmony, joy and peace.

This book would be sum of all self-improvement books available in market plus much more. You need to have certain level of sensitiveness about life to understand and grasp the teachings. Very few books would touch your heart like this one does. Truly very precious.

He is a very charismatic, sage-like being - no question about it, and everything he says "seems" to make perfect sense - blowing away all "isms" as somebody else here said. The concern I have, though, and something that really bothers me, is that he dispells any idea that seekers have anything other than hallucinations and self-deceptions if they have metaphysical experiences along the journey. This would suggest that Sadghuru believes that places such as Fatima, Lourdes, Guadalupe and Medugorie are places of hallucinations from one's own mind (meaning Mary would then be a self-created hallucination to those to whom she appeared in those locations) and that Jesus is not who he said he was. My personally-experienced truth tells me otherwise.
