About the Author
John J. Collins is Holmes Professor of Old Testament Criticism and Interpretation at Yale University (Yale Divinity School and the Department of Religious Studies). He was the President of the Society of Biblical Literature in 2002–3 and President of the Catholic Biblical Association in 1996–97. He is the author of three Fortress Press books: Daniel (Hermeneia, 1996), Introduction to the Hebrew Bible (2003), and Does the Bible Justify Violence? (Facets, 2004).
