Jose Valle "Chuscales" is the real deal...born into a family tradition of gypsy guitar music. He was trained by his father and grandfather from an early age. This CD, produced by Ottmar Liebert, is a crossover into the new flamenco/fusion style.
Whether you're a fan of traditional or neuevo, or both for that matter, you must agree that Chuscales is a master of the guitar.

Comparing Chuscales to Jesse Cook or Oscar Lopez is an unbelievable insult on many levels. First, out of the three, Chusco is the only real flamenco guitarist. Second, as a guitarist, his technique and tone are far superior.
For someone to write that his traditional flamenco has no rhythm is laughable... perhaps the rhythm of flamenco is too complex for this person to grasp the beat. What is boring is an entire CD of rumba rhythm with the flamenco name.
If you are ever in Santa Fe during the summer, do yourself a favor and catch Chuscales live. You will be amazed by his abilities.

This guy can flat-out play. He's about as clean as a player can be. God disguised as as a Flamenco guitarist. Evidently his first recording! Makes life worth living.

We recently heard Chuscales live in Sante Fe - WOW what a privilege. The music is so so romantic and beautiful. He truly is my new favorite artist. Last night we had a dinner party on the patio with Chuscales playing - everyone commented on the CD - Wonderful, fantastic...

I purchased this CD after only listening to only several pieces of songs. I knew this guy had some feel after hearing a few seconds worth of music. I took this CD home a feel in love with his technique, music, and with his passion on the guitar. There are songs that make you cry and songs that make you move. Definitely one of my newest passions!
