important asset for botanically-minded gardeners,

The so-far 8 volumes of the Encyclopaedia of Australian Plants are remarkable for their consistency and content, in particular as they appeared over some 25 years now, and apparently still not complete as yet. What one gets is a superbly written, practically oriented,and illustrated overview of Australian native plants suitable for garden cultivation, though obviously not much for gardeners in colder climes of the Northern hemisphere, and yet satisfying the botanically-minded gardeners' curiosity, who may relish the unfamiliar spectacular of the Australian flora.
Previous volumes seem to be hard to obtain, certainly no longer available from the publishers, but I shall not wish to miss what there still is to come. |
