I can understand why there are so many used books! The Binding Is Poor and will soon fall apart, Just turning the first few pages showed me that.. Very Nice Color BUT very brief instructions On lots of different Beading techiniques. The first part on Tools and Materials is well done. This book is an introduction ONLY. The wire work part does get you started but leaves you wanting more. It gives a few pages to each techinque leaving you wondering what happened to the rest?

I would think that this reference would be a great help for beginner or more experienced beader. I am a beginner and found answers to many questions. There are fantastic photos for direction as well as inspiration.

I borrowed this book from the library in Hong Kong when I visited my sister last month and was really fascinated with all the pictures and instructions. I am a beginner beader and I found this book very informative with good step-by-step instructions. Anyone who is beading for the first time will benefit tremendously from this book.

As a beginner wanting to learn various beading techniques, I was looking for an overview with enough instructions to try things. At first I searched through all the bead books online, but I felt I needed to see the books so I looked through a lot at a store and this was the only one that fit my criteria. Lots of different techniques with very clear pictorial instructions (also explains tools & supplies with clear pictures). As an experienced knitter who has taught knitting the one book you need in your library is Vogue Knitting because it's an extensive overview of just about anything you need to know, like the Joy of Cooking is to cooking. I think that might be true of this Beading Techniques book, but I am a beginner so only time will tell which is why I'm giving it 4 starts instead of 5, but it could be a 5!

This is a very good publication for people new to beading but I am sure that I will dip into it even when I become very experienced because it is a great source book.

I bought this book as an intermediate beader after hearing many good words about it. And I do find it's a great book for beginners to learn new techniques from stringing to seed beading and wire crochet. Not a book for people looking for different projects, but exactly what it claims to be: an encyclopedia to use as reference for learing. A starting point for new beaders that I would recommend.

overall information on beading techniques is easy to understand. Illustrations are real, not diagramatic, but easy to interpret technique shown and plenty of them.

I was a little disappointed in this book I thought it would give me more hands on info than it did. also more ideas. not what I really wanted.
