About the Author

Eileen M. Trauth, Ph.D. is Professor of Information Sciences and Technology and Director of the Center for the Information Society at Pennsylvania State University, USA. Her research is concerned with societal, cultural and organizational influences on information technology and the information technology professions. She has published papers and books on qualitative research methods, global informatics, information policy, information management and information systems skills. She has published eight books and over 100 research papers on her work. She has taught and conducted research in Australia, Canada, France, Ireland, The Netherlands, New Zealand, and the UK. Dr. Trauth is Associate Editor of Information and Organization and serves on the editorial boards of several international journals. Dr. Trauth received her Ph.D. and Masters degrees in information science from the University of Pittsburgh, USA and her Bachelors degree in Education from the University of Dayton, USA. She is a member of the Association for Computing Machinery, the Association for Information Systems, the Information Resources Management Association, the International Federation for Information Processing, and the Fulbright Association.
