From Library Journal
More than 600 internationally recognized authorities contributed to this excellent and thorough reference, the first general work to address the rapidly expanding field that includes neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, neuropharmacology, neurology, neurosurgery, and every aspect of the workings of the brain. It includes over 700 entries, each containing illustrations and a brief bibliography. Neuroscientists and other physicians and scientists will find this a very useful work, but it can also be effectively used by reference librarians and undergraduates. This highly recommended source, which includes the most current developments in neuroscience as well as essential background information, is an excellent purchase for academic and special libraries. Review
1999 ...Animation of simple events, such as neurotransmission, literally brings to life what might otherwise make very dull reading. I would recommend this encyclopedia because it is presented in a good format and the information it contains is exellent. The fact that it uses animation makes it easier to convey quite complex concepts in relatively simple terms. --
