Legendary athletes such as Babe Didrikson, Jim Thorpe, Paavo Nurmi, Jesse Owens, and Kip Keino are profiled. Lists of suggested reading, gold-medal winners and times for selected sports, and cities that have hosted summer games are appended. A good assortment of full-color and archival black-and-white photos elucidates the text. With the plethora of books to choose from on the topic, this title is a worthy one.
