If Hugh Nibley praises a man's work, then it must be worth investigating... This ground-breaking-book is a short synthesis of Gileadi's 20+ years of study on the book of Isaiah. Gileadi is a Jew who was trained in rabinnical school and later converted to Christianity. He brings this rare dichotomous approach to the subject. (For a deeper, meatier version read LITERARY MESSAGE OF ISAIAH; same topic, greater depth). THE END FROM THE BEGINNING deals with literary structures and devices not only within Isaiah, but within ancient Hebrew and Old Testament prophecy in general. It explains the trancendant scope of Isaiah's intent in writing, and the key patterns from his era that mark the final stages of the world before the apocalypse. Also contains a brief but superb explanation of covenant relationships. This book is both intellectually and spiritually invigorating. Well worth the price. |
