More About the Author

Roxanne got her first horse at the tender age of six, and grew up riding bareback throughout her small Minnesota town year around. It was like giving a child car keys!

She's now living her childhood dream-living on an acreage in the country, with her husband, three horses, two goofy border collies, and six fluffy barn cats-a much smaller menagerie than when their three kids were still at home. Ranches, animals, and small town life frequently find their way into her books.

Roxanne has a Master's Degree in nutrition--oh so helpful when it comes to writing novels! She worked as a registered dietitian until she decided to stay home and write. If not writing at home in her jammies or spending time with her family, you'll find her riding one of the family's horses, playing with her camera, or hiding with her nose in a book.

You can visit her personal website at www.roxannerustand.com for news about her books, articles, and a free cookbook. There, you can also sign up for a free quarterly newsletter with fun recipes, information on contests and prizes, and news about any upcoming book releases.

At her website, you'll also find her "All Creatures Great and Small" blog about life in the country, and a variety of author guests talking about their pets.

Big Sky Secrets
Book 3

Though book 1 and 2 of this series left a lot to be desired, I thought this book was excellent. The author captured my attention at page one when Deputy Megan Peters had to work a serial killer/rape case. When she met new resident of the county, Scott Anders, she believed (and hoped?) that he'd be the guy they were looking for. But he quickly put her "worries" to rest by providing lots of appropriate cause why it wasn't him...

We get to see interaction (very little) with the women from book 1 and 2. since Megan is the last of the three surviving childhood friends, we also get to get answers to something we've been wondering through the first two books. The suspense in this book was awesome. There was always some sort of action going down. I loved Scott and his desires to take in strays, as well as Megan wanting to adopt an un-adoptable dog. The romance was handled very nicely. Each had issues that kept them wanting to get involved and we have a pretty awesome scene that take place near the end of the book.

Can't wait to get the stories on Carrie (introduced in book 2) and Emma (mentioned in book 2).
