HISTORY AS IT SHOULD BE WRITTEN,

This review is from: The End of Glory (Hardcover)
The End of Glory is the best book about the origins of World War II. It passes the supreme test for reading history - it is very well written. The events and characters that shaped the years from 1919 to 1941 are given new life. You may think that you know what happened when the British and French "appeased" Hitler, but you have to read this book to understand why it happened and, more importantly, what came from it. The Hitler who emerges from this book is an opportunist, but with a plan. The plan is to conquer Europe. The means is the newly developed blitzkreg. But, Hitler is more than willing to grab what he can without shedding blood. This excellent book reads more like a very well written novel than a stuffy historical study. Read it and you'll discover how much you have to learn about WW II, and how much fun it is to learn it.
