4.0 out of 5 stars Good explaination of events during seige.
I was at Khe Sanh for about two to three weeks in Jan, 1968. I was one of 28 Army personnel on base on Jan. 20, 1968. I never really knew what happened or why on those fateful days until I was wounded on Jan. 26, 1968. By reading the day to day account of that time and after I know now what and how but no one will ever really know why.

1.0 out of 5 stars Robert Pisor is a waste of time
Robert Pisor's book reminds me of the same transparent dribble that comes from many "agenda authors". As you are reading his accounts of this battle you rapidly become aware of two things; everything the Americans did was piggish and amateurish. Everything the Vietnamese did was lofty and surgically brilliant. Our generals were the worst, our plans inept; our combat...

This is an excellent book that not only gives us the story of the "siege" of Khe Sanh but it also gives us a different perspective on the politicals behind the war in Vietnam.

Our generals were the worst, our plans inept; our combat troops shallow and spoiled. We left empty beer cans and weiners and beans all over the woods. The Vietnamese fought harder, were courageous vegetarians who cleaned up after themselves and saved puppies while they kicked our butts.

He is the Michael Moore of military history.
What a waste of time!
