best release of 2003,

this album is amazing. i guess it's death metal, but has elements of grind and doom with tortured, misanthropic vocals (two singers). listening to this cd makes me think of bleak post-apocalpytic imagery and the over all uselessness of the human race. every aspect of this album is great, from the packaging, to the lyrics, to the superior musicianship. they combine to create a whole; the band definitely had a vision with this cd and accomplished it fully- a testament to the end of the human race, the end of nothing.

Like every one else, i heard about the death/grind/doom band "rune" throught the cd split they did with the band "kalibas" being as i never heard of neither of those bands before-- i decided to give kalibas a try first but didn't like them...In the other hand, rune was amazing blending elements of doom, grind, death and such it was a very much worth experience to being able to listing to a great band like rune. Anyways, give them a try!

Wow, i was blown away when i first heard rune's split with kalibas which made me go buy kalibas's album as well as rune and i wasn dissapointed with none of them at all. If your a fan of grind, noise, deathmetal then this album is a must have without a doubt! Go get it.

Best album without a doubt of 2003,

When I first heard a Kalibas/Rune split cd, I just had to check out Rune's latest achievement"The end of nothing". WOW! was I amazed! These guys fight the good fight with searing guitars with just seem to grasp the listeners attention and relentless blast beats that will leave your hair tangled. The vocalists are amazing and unique and really add the final element to the Death metal force that is Rune. If you haven't bought this and call yourself a fan of metal, buy it now and quit kidding yourself..nuff said.

best metal album of 2003 easily,

Rune take a raw, technical (but not overdone) form of death-grind and infuse it with a strong sense of Neurosis styled doom elements. This isn't an album you'll appreciate on the first, second, or even third listen. The songs are dense and contain little in the way of catchy hooks. You'll have to listen to it intently to start to grasp all it's minor nuances and melodies hidden below the blast beats. Willowtip's track record to me is flawless and among such strong company as Kalibas, Harakiri, Ion Dissonance, Watchmaker, Goatsblood and Commit Suicide you'll find that Rune stands up admirably and is one of the stronger albums the label has put out.

They have potential to be more, even though this was a great CD. What is my basis? Why do I say this? I just saw them live. I heard 2 new songs. That is why. They last a vocalist(Doug) but the bassist(didn't talk to him) fills in deep throat(no giggling!) pretty good, and Jeremy is a great vocalist by himself. Intense, intense.
