4.0 out of 5 stars Great CD with re-recordings.
Very nice cd with re-recordings by Skeeter of her most famous songs.
Only problem i see is that the track list here is not right. This track list is from the digital MP3 download album which is also named "The End of the World".
So now i'm a bit disappointed cause i was expecting all the songs that are listed here on the cd.

This is the track...

At this point, perhaps I should add a question mark to "Recuts", but the good news is that the recordings are outstanding: vocal, arrangement, mix...and material. I'm sure many people would buy this collection on the strength of the title tune!

4.0 out of 5 stars Music review, November 23, 2010

I found that the delivery after the purchase was delivered in a reasonable manner and in perfect condition. I found Skeeter Davis songs to very pleasant and with a lot of feeling from the lyrics. I like Gonna get along without you now that has the most feelings about a situation that can be true to anyones life. She comes from an era that I grew up in as a young kid in the late 50's and early 60's along with Lesley Gore and Annette Funicello that brought the same feeling to music unlike the artists of today. I highly recommend it for people who are baby boomers that were born in the 1950's.

Gusto Records is the label here, and two Producers are listed for all the tracks, so we assume these are not the original hits. Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated.

To the music: "The End of the World", "Set Him Free", "I Can't Stay Mad at You", and "I Can't Help You, I'm Falling To" are quiet, soothing sounds, and are successful as first time or second time efforts.

Elvis fans might not have known that SD toured with himk in the '50s; interesting, that the last song mentioned in paragraph three, sounds very much like Presley's 1956 ballad side, "I'm Counting On You".

What can I say? The product I knew would be excellent or I would not have ordered it and the service is also exceptional. Not much else to say. I'm very satisfied with both.
