As a lifelong pianist myself, I was extremely impressed by the sheer musicality of the selections in this disk [[Endangered: Marthanne Verbit, piano, Albany Records U.S.]] Not always delighted by New Music, I especially found the pieces by Fennimore, Lieverson, Tann and Kennedy moving with Verbit's sensitive play. At times the delicate precision of her fingerwork is stunning, like sonic Belgian lace. The recording itself is first rate audiophile quality. No quibbles.
