Outstanding job, BSE!,

After listening to BSE's first album, Driving Insane, I didn't think drum n' bass could get any better, but leave it to BSE to out do themselves! This album is a bit darker and it's title, Endagered Species is complemented by the heaviness of the music, the hard basslines, and the shady ambience mixed in with the beats.
Dieselboy and a few others are good drum n' bass artists, but Black Sun Empire is the emporer of drum n' bass. The first cd is like that of the first album, solid tracks of shady bass and moody atmosphere. The second cd however, is faster, meaner, and darker in some aspects. Nothing on this album is borring and almost all tracks (on the second cd) can be played in a flawless loop. I highly look forward to hearing more of BSE's work in the future.

I'll admit I'm not the biggest fan of Drum and Bass. I only like a few producers and a few tracks here and there. Black Sun Empire are the only group I know that make truly dark D&B. It's the kind of dark that isn't out to grab your attention all the time. Almost like it's happening with or without you, it doesn't care if you listen it will still pound away. This is the quality I like. I like Dieselboy and others, but it seems like some of the tracks he uses lately try to grab your attention with gimmicky build ups/drops and such. Black Sun Empire is musical, it's what's right for the music, not what's right for the crowd and it flows nicely. It's sad that none of BSE's music can be found stateside, but I'd strongly recommend you find it anyway you can.

I've been listening to dnb for 10 years and its very rare to come across a quality mix like this. Solid all the way thru! No weak points! If you're a true fan of drum n bass this is a must-have!!
