Very smooth texture and rich flavor!

And to boot, it's the healthiest chocolate you could eat - lots of antioxidants, no animal products (vegan), no gluten, supports endangered species, etc.
Ellie
Even better, the individually wrapped pieces help with portion control.

I like the bitterness of this chocolate. its texture however was a little bit too dry for me. even when you place it in your mouth for 1 min, it remained pretty hard and when you chew or bite on it, it kind of crumbles instead of 'flows'. that's my only complaint. i've had 88% dark chocolate that had better texture.

If you like dark chocolate, you'll love this. They perfectly balance having enough chocolate that you can taste the whole flavor profile without having so much that it's too bitter to eat.

Plus, you can eat it guilt free!

I received the six boxes of this chocolate just a few days after I ordered it from Amazon. Testing it before I gave it away as Harvest favors, I was VERY disappointed to find that it was compromised, either it was old or it was improperly stored. The first piece had an old, tasteless, even bad flavor! I opened a few to see if it was an exception rather than the rule, but they had the same discoloration often seen on chocolate that is either old or not stored properly. I am trying to return it but I am running into dead ends. I will update this post to advise other consumers of how I fare with Amazon, Marjam LLC, or Endangered Species Chocolates!

Meanwhile, beware of all three unless you like spoiled food!

UPDATE 2012 10 18 (9:15 PM)

So, Amazon has a "no return"policy for this item according to my reviewed order list! As I currently understand it, that is because it was shipped from a third party distributor, Marjam LLC. When I follow Amazon links to Marjam LLC, Marjam LLC refers me back to Amazon Returns Policy page; a forever loop!

There does not appear to be a way for me to contact Amazon or Marjam LLC directly; help???

I've been Crossfitting for 6 months now, and I just started my first Paleo Challenge. I am thrilled to know that I can still eat chocolate - as long as it is dark chocolate with at least 70% cocoa. I have always been a fan of chocolate mint, and this dark chocolate flavor with Deep Forest mint completely satisfies my chocolate cravings. Even better, the individually wrapped pieces help with portion control. Great find!

Can you say healthier after dinner chocolate mint? Only problem is stopping at one, or two for that matter. These are much creamier than the 3 oz mint bar by the same company. I don't enjoy eating the mint bars, but I do use them to make chocolate mint cookies.

I had not yet written a review for this product although I LOVE it!! Once I read some of the unflattering reviews I had to add mine. This is a high content cocoa product 88%. So it is expected to have a low sugar content which is part of why I am permitted to have it and not other (lesser) chocolates (under 70%). I have tried other brands that offer greater than 80% cocoa in their products but the main stream brand names seem to add other ingredients to make the chocolate smoother and take a way from the experience. One big name brand company has an 86% that makes me think I am eating 60% with food coloring. I enjoy dark chocolate and so I enjoy the endangered species 88%. It is an added bonus that part of the proceeds help a wonderful cause. I also love the individually wrapped squares because as another reviewer wrote, they help with portion control. If you love DARK chocolate you should at least give this product a try.

We had a taste test in our family (3 generations at once) and we tried several organic and non-organic chocolates. The "chimpanzee chocolate" won hands down. I don't understand why the two negative reviewers decided to write a review when they admit in the review that they don't like dark chocolate? If you are looking for a chocolate - this is the best tasting according to our family. (You could also do your own taste test with a bunch of chocolate bars and see if you come up with the same result!)
