Des'ree really has a voice strangely associated w/ the concept of Mother Earth. This CD is a flowing, melodic combination of wonderful vocals, lyrics and instrumentals. Des'ree has a way of making her music sound extremely natural and comfortable. My personal favourite is "Life". The lyrics are simple, but extremely thoughtful. If you haven't purchased a Des'ree CD yet, then this is the one for you, because it consists of a compilation of some of her older hits as "live versions" and some new songs. I guarantee you that you won't be disappointed by her amazing voice. The music scene is too cluttered w/ rap, hip hop and music that doesn't make sense. If you want to listen to well-written music that stirs something inside, Des'ree is for you.

I'm surprised no one has reviewed this CD yet. For those who don't know Des'ree, she is a wonderful singer, and among her most popular songs, one could mention "You gotta be", which was a hit everywhere, "Fire", recorded with Babyface, and "Kissing you", from Romeo and Juliet soundtrack (new version).This new CD, which is an imported item, is really great, especially for fans. It brings obscure tracks, b-sides and some of her hits in live versions.

I'm really glad this CD was released! I like her voice and I wish she became more popular in US. "Silent hero" is a powerful track, which deserves credit from all listeners of soft music. "You gotta be", her major sucess, has meaningful lyrics, to make people react to adversities in life. "Life", a track from her previous album, is fine as well, despite the fact that the lyrics may sound very stupid for some. All the other tracks follow the same pattern of the ones which were mentioned, always brightned by Des'ree vocals. So if you like good singers, this is a CD you must have.

I love this album. Several of the songs were remixes or new approaches to ones I already know and love, while the rest were completely new to me. However, as a big fan of Des'ree, the new songs do not disappoint. A great album, even though it only plays on a few of my CD players!
