This is the second volume of the Graphic Novel version of Ender's Shadow. Although I think Ender's Game is excellent and original, the re-telling of the same story from the perspective of Bean, a relatively minor character in "Game", is ingenious and to my judgment a more interesting book. Bean is a great creation with an amazing life and personality. From his infancy he struggles to avoid the thread of death-- among his saviors an illiterate whoremonger and a feisty nun. The graphic realization is very well done, much condensed, of course. A fine achievement to keep convincing and believable, as did the original author Orson Scott Card, an incredible story of brilliant little kids who function as military geniuses in a war in which the survival of the human race is at stake. Incidentally, the Graphic Novel of Ender's Game is equally well done.
