About the Author

Robert I. Rotberg is president of the World Peace Foundation and director of the Kennedy School's program on interstate conflict, conflict prevention, and conflict resolution. His previous Brookings books include Peacekeeping and Peace Enforcement in Africa: Methods of Conflict Prevention (2000), Creating Peace in Sri Lanka (1999), and Burma: Prospects for a Democratic Future (1998).
