they provide no purpose. don't waste your money. that's what i get for trying to buy cheap products to help quit smoking.

1.0 out of 5 stars what is it?, May 23, 2005

This funny looking thing is so weak-tasting that no amount of puffing is going to satisfy your taste for a cigarette.

Save your money and don't buy this product.

I purchased Endit as an aid to help me quit smoking along with some Commit lozenges. The Commit appears to be working very well according to what it says it does, but the Endit smokeless cigarettes....well, the flavor is extremely weak and they do not appear to last as promised. Also they are shaped rather flat, not round like a cigarette. I could have had the same effect with a straw. I have seen other smokeless cigarettes that I feel I should have tried instead. Don't waste your money.

The following is how I used EndIts to quit smoking over four years ago. Take it for what it's worth. It worked for me and am alive to tell about it. I was a 1.5 pack a day menthol cigarette addict (Salem):

None of the smoking cessation products are sufficient by themselves, because they address only half of the addiction. A typical smoker has two parts to their addiction: a physical addiction to the nicotine and a mental addiction to the actual act of putting the cigarette in their mouth and taking a nice big, satisfying drag from it.

I used generic mint-flavored nicotine lozenges (4g nicotine) tucked between my cheek and gum for the nicotine addiction. I used the fake plastic EndIt cigarettes for the mental. In the beginning you use about 20 of the lozenges a day, but as the days go by you can go the entire day with only about four, because they dissolve much slower when they are tucked in your cheek instead of just sucking on them like candy. Take that plastic tube-cigarette for the actual smoking action and the mint lozenge gives you that minty menthol cigarette feeling while you are drawing air through the EndIt. Just like when you draw air into your mouth while sucking on a mint. Actually feels better than a real cigarette because it is clean and not dirty-smokey.

I started this on the morning after I smoked my last cigarette late at night before I went to bed, so I would wake up the next morning with no cigarettes. When I woke up I immediately went into the normal no-cigarettes panic. I just reached for the lozenges and sucked like a madman and puffed on the plastic tube. It worked. I went through the entire day without a smoke and it really wasn't too bad, because I was totally occupied with the lozenges and EndIt.

After about four months I dropped the lozenges completely and used altoides candy. I kept the plastic EndIt cigarette for about three years, just playing with it out of habit. I would only use it one or twice a week. Just kept it in my pocket for security. I finally dropped it about a year ago as well.

Now I don't even have urges to smoke, and this is from a guy who used to have full-blown panic attacks whenever he would run out of cigarettes. I really did think that I would die young from smoking because I didn't think there would be any way I could possibly quit. Just thinking about quitting would make me panic and immediately go for a cigarette. I just analyzed myself and my addiction and got lucky. I doubt I would be here today otherwise. I really was in very bad shape.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great mental prop, March 1, 2011

I haven't smoked in a year thanks to this product which gave me a little taste and helped me with that oral fixation. If I drink or go someplace where there is a lot of smoking, this is the perfect tool. I wouldn't say you can usually quit with this tool alone. I used this along with nicotine gum. I would advise using this with some nicotine replacement tool such as gum, lozenge, or patch. I still carry one around in case I get a bad craving which still happens sometimes in social situations. I get a little taste of smoking and get to hold and puff on something that looks like a cigarette. I would advise anyone that's quitting smoking to use this as an extra tool in your arsenal to fight those cravings.

5.0 out of 5 stars Smoke free for over a month!, July 9, 2004
This review is from: Endit Smokeless Inhalers, Menthol Flavor - 2 inhalers (Health and Beauty)
This product has really helped me to quit smoking. Would be great for non-smoking situations even if you still smoke. I have tried to quit many times, and haven't been successful. I used the patch, and endit this time. So far, so good! Really helps with the oral fixation. I am very happy, and will continue to use this product while I need to.
