It's powerfully chunky. Great to play loud...Really loud. It is also catchy and singable. Like a giant viking victory march. Buy this disk for an adventure.

2003's Endless Conflict Theorem is the second album from Canadian band Raventhrone. The band has a sound that's tough to pin down, incorporating elements of black, gothic and pagan/folk metal.

Endless Conflict Theorem is a little like an Emperor album, assuming Emperor ever released an album you could dance to. Maybe Atrocity and Sentenced are more appropriate comparisons. Lyrically and to some degree musically, Raventhrone has a "cold Scandinavian winter" black metal aspect, but the melodies and keyboards are so prominent, as are the clean vocals, that it pushes the album farther into gothic metal territory. There are some folk/pagan elements, but nothing on the level of a Tyr or Eluveitie. It's a good combination though, and makes for a memorable album that doesn't get too weighted down by genre restrictions.

For whatever reason, this is the last album (to date) we've seen from the band. It's a shame, because Raventhrone had a lot to offer and there's definitely still a market for this kind of metal.

I have a feeling Raventhrone's sound will be a bit too much for most black metal and pagan/Viking metal purists, but if you don't mind some cross-genre experimentation or are a fan of gothic metal, you should give Endless Conflict Theorem a try.

I thought this was a very unique band. On this album Raventhrone combines traditional Blackmetal with European Folk, and added a Gothic twist. I gave it 4 stars because I didn't like their take on some of the folk singing parts. On the plus side this cd had some very awesome heavier tracks with some very cool sounding keyboards, kind of sounded like Dan Swano keys.

I enjoyed this album and would reccomend it to any serious Metal collector.
